GH2 in a Hexakopter

What I didn't understand was this: "" I set the GH2 to 1080 24fps at 80% and then conformed it to 30fps for real time - 24Mbs ""

What does this do?

The variable movie mode, so you can get 1080p30 from the GH2 with the 24Mbs encoding engine

These clips give me so much gear envy, but I gotta develop my standard cinematography skills first :P

Seriously thinking about this rig. Its basic, but looks like it will work with a GF1. I would be pushing the payload to the max.
I think that might not make work so smooth.

The basic quadcopter kit goes for $400, the camera mount is $75. I am sure there is a lot more to buy but that gives you an idea on price.

The Draganflyer X6 starts out at just $18,990.00

I'm an engineer and I know a little about RC crafts. $19K is over the top. An experienced model maker could put together a Heli for around $2k to hold a GH with servo controls to pan and tilt. You won't have the base station with live video view but you could get some excellent video even without it.

I have spent the last 2 days researching this and there is a very active open source/ DIY community devoted to this stuff. Yeah 19k is way over the top, I think they are going after that home land security money. This stuff makes police departments excited.

Here is the ultimate link post on all of this stuff.

Overexposed,i wish vimeo would have separate video category for weddings so i could block them all and wouldnt bump on 3 weddings on each page when browsing DSLR footage.:Drogar-Kriz(DBG):

I don't think it would be safe or practical to have 4 sets of blades rotating at 40,000rpm in a crowd of people at a wedding. The noise and law suit if you were to slam into a persons face! oh boy! I think a Blimp would be far safer yet the noise is an issue.

Wat are "Video glasses"?

They make you look like you live in the 90's version of the future. But are useful tools. This is a store that sells them.
