GH2 in a Hexakopter

From what I've read, this isn't something for amateur hour. These ground pilots are pretty skilled. But it's a great way to get ariel shots.

Wow this can lift a bottle of coke.

We had a chopper RC aerial video business till my partner moved away.. he was the pilot. This stuff isn't easy to learn and it's expensive.. especially when it crashes..

This option for the multiple propellers seems cool.. but they do fail.. and you have to do the auto rotation when it does drop like a rock.. The best piece of advice is to get the RC simulator and go on that for a few months before buying any RC..

I might have to investigate some of these options more

cheers

Man I want one! If that first video is of the operator's home, he no doubt can afford a few fiery crashes.

I think that is why the multi-rotor helis are so different, they are a lot easier to fly and there are some interesting DIY projects coming out of it right now. The most interesting things that I have seen are using GPS coordinates to predefine a flight path so you do not need to fly it, it fly's it self. This newer design is a real game changer. I have also heard that you may be able to put a transmitter on someone it can track that person. There is also a iphone app to control the chopper ect.....There is a lot on innovation happening right now in the RC chopper world.

Here is a forum that I have stubled onto that deals with multi rotor helis.
If anyone knows about a project that is good for a GH1 with a 14mm lens for under $500 let me know.

<Rant> The down side is this technology is going to get militarized soon. <Rant>

Oh ya but the old school chopper can haul a af100 which looks like this: ( would hate to crash that one )

Check this site out. This is the same company that makes the chopper from the first video. Looks like they are completely backordered on the camera mounts. ( I guess there are a lot of people thinking about this )

Also seeing this shop here that sells camera mounting equipment.

The GAUI 330X-S can hold 500g, I wonder if that would work for a gf1 with a 14mm.

Nice! Here is a vid with a picture of his rig.

I have looked into it and the Panny 14mm and gf1 only weigh 440g with battery. Maybe if i can strip down the GF1 some more I can get it to work with a stock 330x-s

I need to see if i can find someone in the Bay Area with a Rig like this for a shot I need in April. I've dreamed of having a Radio Controlled helicopter since I was a kid. Now someone bought me an R/C copter almost a year ago and it's still in the box. It's nothing like these rigs, if I had the time I would love to get into this myself but that's not a reality right now. I'm about to go check out reel directory.

So how do you see what you're shooting to know if it is even mildly framed properly? Just shoot crazy wide and infinite and point in the general direction?

I think mine would have some wireless parchutes, push the emergency button and a parachute pops out ;)

Anyone ventured to this helicopter thingy? Is this easy to learn?

The GH2's DR and highlight performance is amazing. The snow isn't clipping and it's so sharp..

What I didn't understand was this: "" I set the GH2 to 1080 24fps at 80% and then conformed it to 30fps for real time - 24Mbs ""

What does this do?

The bimbo cops in high heels "chasing" the bad guy, (while waddling along at 3mph as he runs in place), and then "beating" him with foam nightsticks (video #2) is the biggest WTF laugh I've gotten in awhile...
