GH2 GH2 Hack - What is "spanning"

So many threads and posts about spanning that I can't even find original posts that explain what spanning is. Can someone enlighten me?
 
Spanning means that when the GH2 video clip reaches the 4GB file size limit of the FAT32 file system, it can branch off the video into a new file and maintain the information to hook it back together. So you can essentially press the record button one time and you'll get one continuous video clip until you run out of space. There will be a bunch of 4GB-sized video clips, but they can easily be stuck together to be continuous.

The reason you see so many threads about spanning is that with the GH2 hacks, some of them won't allow the camera to jump over into writing to a new file because of the speed neccessary to pull it off without stopping. If you don't want any worries about being able to span, the sure-fire route are the new Sandisk 64GB 95MBps SDXC cards. I have one and it works great.
 
Im not to sure what to get, I already have a PNY 16gb Class10 / 20mbs card that works fine , but i dont have my gh2 hacked yet.
$50 for 32gb sandisk extreme Class 10 30mbs/ Or $120 for 32gb class 10 U1 90Mbs card.

any help would be great
 
Be careful when starting new threads. Every single time I start a thread asking a question about ANY topic related to the hack, it gets migrated over to this one MASSIVE 20-something page thread and get lost.
