Hi, I have a problem with my h4n and the gh2.
I use a wireless lav connected to the h4n and the h4n to the gh2 with the secom cable but the sound is too high.
If i connect the wireless lav directly to the gh2 with the sescom cable, the sound is great.
But if I connect the h4n to the gh2 with the same cable the sound stay in the red zone even if I set the headphone/line output at 0.
Is there a setting for the h4n to make if work with the gh2 ?

This sounds like an input level issue. I use a Zoom H1 with the same setup (wireless lav, sescom cable input to GH2) and it works, but I have to adjust both the output and the input levels.

You may find this thread from Creative Cow useful. It was started by an H4n guy with the opposite problem (input level too low), but it describes several remedies that involve adjusting the input level, and may be helpful to you. Good luck

1) Which sescom cable are you using?
2) Are you running the lav -> H4n -> sescom -> GH2 with a break out headphone jack on the sescom? Note that the XLR inputs on the H4n want mic level audio but he output of the H4n is line level. The GH2 wants mic level. So the Sescom cable should take the H4n's line level, split out a headphones feed and then pad it down -30db to mic level for the GH2.

In this setup you will have numerous gain controls.

As always start by setting the lav 'sensitivity' to a proper level for the placement of the mic using the levels display on the transmitter. Next setup the output of the lav receiver to give you a good level into the H4n with the H4n's input 1/2 set to around 50. At this point you should be able to get good levels on the H4n levels display, if not adjust the lav output and/or H4n input until you do. Now you need to set the output level on the H4n to an appropriate level (these are the controls on the left side) by listening to the headphones. Once that is done swap in the sescom cable and set the Gh2 to input level 1 and attach the headphones. Now you should be getting good levels both in the GH2 and the headphones. If not try adjusting the H4n output levels.

I hope this helps. I have everything but a lav (which I rent) but this is how I do it in general.

I'm using this cable :
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/746644-REG/Sescom_LN2MIC_ZMH4_GH1_LN2MIC_ZMH4_Line_Out_to.html

The problem is if I plug it to the h4n and gh2, with the audio input on the gh2 at level1, h4n output volume at 0 and mic input at 0, the level on the camera is still too high. It looks like the cable doesn't do his job. (if I use my earphone I have good sound when the levels are normal and no sound when the output from the h4n is at 0)
I don't see another explanation...

Hmm, it should work with that cable. Can you try another source besides the lav? Maybe a VMP or just the H4n's internal mics...

But it does sound like the -25dB pad is just not working ...

I maybe found a solution.
I was using a 5v dc input for the h4n. When I use the AA batteries, the sound is good on the gh2 with the cable.
If I plug the cable to the gh2 and h4n when I use a 5v input, the camera receive a loud noise (even if the H4n is off !!!)
So the problem is the H4n. I will have to AA battery for the H4n.
It's a shame as I have a 5v output from my V-plate

You shouldn't have any trouble to use it with the GH1 as this cable was designed specially for this camera.
My problem come from my 5v input. (it's 5v 2A, but the h4n need 5V 1A, so this is maybe an explanation...)
AA batteries works fine,
the zoom DC adapter works fine as well.
