GH2 Filter : Help me think, 14mm or a GoPro

I've got the GH2 w/ 20mm, 14-42mm, FD 50mm 1.4, FD 24 2.0, and some FD zooms.

I really want something wider than my 20mm, and I just don't like the kit lens. It's not sharp enough.

I'm strongly considering the 14mm, though I know it is not ultra-wide. But, for around the same price, I could get a GoPro HD. The 14mm seems more practical in some ways, but the GoPro might allow for some more creative shots, and would get my an additional camera (albeit limited when compared to my GH2).

Which would you rather have? I have no experience with either, but I'm will to get one, and sell it if it doesn't work out.

I have no experience with the GoPro or the 14mm. But if it was me, I would get the 14mm (if I didn't already own the 7-14, which I love).

The GoPro seems like a 1 trick pony to me. Maybe a good trick, but just the one. The GH2 is just so much more.... Well, I don't really need to go into all that. Everybody here already knows how great it is.

So I would do the 14mm, but then, I know how I would use it. I think it depends on what you're going to do with it really.

GoPro is great but would not be competition for a prime lens. Here is a video using both a 14-140mm and the GoPro

Hope this helps.

The GoPro uses a Fisheye lens, it provides a different look. If it's about action/extreme sports, get the GoPro, the form factor alone lets you do things with it that can never be done with a GH2.

A GF2 and the 14mm F2.5 would be strong competition for the GoPro. The GoPro is cool though. My personal preference is for the GH2 + 14-140mm. Nothing matches the sharpness and detail of that combo in 1080p @ 30 FPS 80% slow motion mode.

I have both the 14mm F2.5 and the 14-140mm. I only use the 14mm pancake when I want the camera to fit in a small pouch instead of a small carrying case. The difference in brightness wide open isn't as useful as I thought it would be. What I really need is an F2.5-F3.5 140mm or longer lens. That would be cool.

I thought you always said 720P was the best mode. Would you please explain?
