so i figured i would throw this in here as it might be helpful to others. today i took a cheap lcdvf clone and peeled the rubber piece off, cut about a half inch off of it, and it fit over the gh2s evf perfectly, the rubber stretches over it nice and snug, stays in place really well, and takes 2 seconds to put on or remove. with the eye cushion it was all about $20 and took 5 minutes to make.

Jack - no need to wait - it doesn't work for the GH2. It's really for camcorders with longer, tube-style viewfinders :-(
It's going back to B&H.
Looks like Ben has the best solution - ordering the pieces today!

Colin - Great eyecup solution. How snug is the Z-Finder cup on the GH2? It looks like it will not allow the viewfinder to swing out - can you slip it on/off the EVF easily so you can get to the LCD screen? Thanks

Its a very comfortable but snug fit, can be on or off in a second. The LCD will not open with the eyecup in place. I fixed a small strip of thin rubber to the inside top of the eyecup, as a small amount of light was visible. I makes outdoor use so much easier.
