GH2 Gh2 - cannot hack - urgent

Hi Guyz & Galz

I cannot seem to hack my GH2. -- PTool 3.66d beta / Sanity X
Fully charged battery. Incremented the version number the proper way. Followed all the standard instructions to the letter.
It goes through the motions of loading Sanity X from the memory card, but when finished loading it's still all the standard settings menus, and it still shows V1.1 in the camera ? Any ideas ?

I had a GH1 for some time before this, and this always hacked beautifully - so I don't think it's anything I'm doing ?

Are some GH2's unhackable ?

Thanks in advance for any help . . got an important shoot in a few days . . and I'm starting to panic big time !
 
Sometimes the "patch" is pretty much invisible. Check the ISO's, can you now go above 3200 in video mode? If so the "patch" was successful.

If not go back to Ptools and load the original firmware, then select Sanity again and go through the basic choices. Most "hacks" will allow you to check PAL/NTSC, Remove the ISO limits, and more. I no longer have GH2s so I cannot really check further. But I do remember that in the camera settings and menus I could not see anything different between Sanity and Flowmotion 2.02, whatever happens is in the background and generally invisible to the user.

Even though you have the version increment checked, the camera will still report v 1.1
 
I'm with Bruce on this one. Most of what the patches do won't be visible in camera.

Record some footage and check it. THAT is where you see the effects of a patch.

Jim, he needs to understand that sometimes the difference is slight enough it's hard to tell. Depends on motion in the frame (other than subject motion usually). I used to check and see if I had access to ISO higher than 3200 in Video mode. If so the patch was successful and I just sat back and enjoyed using the camera.

I don't know. Most of the patches up the bitrate by an easily verifiable margin. Play the file in something like PotPlayer or VLC, and if the bitrate is over 24 Mb/s, the camera's been hacked.
