So when my gh2 gets here i plan to shoot in 24p 95% of the time, but final cut express doesn't support 24p. is there anyway i can get around this by still using final cut express?

Final Cut Express 4 does support 24p. You may need the latest update and you will need to log and transfer. But it does support it.

i do have final cut express 4, but when i try to set my time line i can only se tit to 25 fps or 29.97 fps. there is no option for 24p.

I was working all night with 24p footage. I have version 4.0.1 and I do not have to specify the timeline frame rate. On output it recognizes tthe material is 24p.

My only reservation right now is that slider moves and pans do not render out smoothly. I'm not sure if that is a display issue on my computer because of the large file size, or something else is going with respect to 24p. I'm thinking it's the former because the footage plays well in the editor window.

I remember when I updated my FCE to version 4 a couple of months ago, I did so because of 24p support. I wouldn't have updated otherwise. But I've since been unable to find any reference to the suppossed update on the web. Strange.

But as I said, L&T works perfectly and at no time do I have any issues with the footage while editing.
