I wanted to get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for my GH2, but I'm not sure what cable to get! Are all the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cables the same? There are a lot of cheap ones on ebay, but I'm not sure if they work properly with the GH2.

Make sure you get a shielded one, because if you have the camera hooked up to a monitor or anything that draws power there may be some issues with other signals interfering and that's when you get a weird humming noise. Other than that they're mostly all the same, quality aside. Buy from Monoprice.com

buy a few
never have truer words been spoken. you can NEVER have too many audio adapters. buy 2 or 3 of whatever you can.

you may not need them today. but that day you do, you'll be everybody's rockstar!

you need the Hosa gmp-467 buy a few

What makes this the "best solution" is that it is a "right angle" adapter. It will "save space", prevent excessive strain on the mic input (extremely important) and allow the use of shielded standard stereo extension cables from places like Radio Shack.

The Hosa also works. Unlike some 2.5mm adapters. I think I ordered a bunch from monoprice or online somewhere and they didn't work at all. There is some issue with them being for phones and not for cameras. We also had one from radio shack that wasn't angled and the pin broke out of it due to the stress of the cable. The angled one is the way to go so you don't have the leverage of a heavy cable hanging 2" off the side putting stress on the little 2.5mm pin. The 2.5mm pin really is a terrible spec for our application. But if you get a hosa or a neutrik all metal cable end like the one on the sescom you are gtg.
