GH13 on big screen? (film festivals)

I'm working on a short drama film and I wanted to submit it to a few festivals.

I was wondering if any of you had an idea of how GH13 footage looks projected on a big screen.

I'm planning on shooting most of it in 1080p but I might have to use 720p for slow motion a few times and maybe do some motion in post (losing resolution).

So a few questions:

-How does GH1(3) footage look in general on a big screen?
-Would 720p be sufficient?
-Should I upscale the 720p or downscale the 1080p for the final export?

Hope you can help.

It looks great - provided the footage is good to begin with (ie welll lit and composed). It looks pretty much identical to good 16mm film.

At film school, our gh13 footage is often projected digitally on 30 ft screen. I've also had a production house do a free 10 second 35mm transfer from gh13 footage, which they cc'd in a DaVinci 2K. Only 10 seconds, but it looked even better.

Any slightly out-of-focus shots and noisy footage will be exaggerated on the big screen, so make sure you get it right. 1080p is always better. We had a few 720p slo-mos and they still looked good, but there is a noticable difference in quality, even if it's small. It's fine for a few shots, but make sure you shoot your actor's cu's in 1080.

But have no hesitations with the gh13, it looks great. I can't see why any low-budget filmmaker would shoot 16mm anymore.

Good luck.
