GH13: Film Mode settings to hide fixed pattern noise?

Hey folks. I just grabbed a GH1 and hacked it with Lpowell's High Reliability patch. I love the camera in proper light, but I'm not too thrilled about the vertical and horizontal bands at ISO 800 and 1600 in low light. Can anyone recommend Film Mode settings that make the banding less noticeable? I would gladly trade dynamic range for less FPN. Also, I'm not looking to do major color work in post so if it means bumping the contrast and cranking the noise reduction, so be it. What do you guys recommend? Thanks~Mark.

standard or dynamic is your best bet possibly. the higher saturation seems to hide the banding. other flatter settings like smooth or nostalgic really bring out the banding.

there is also a pluging called denoise that seems to do a decent job too.

Dynamic works fairly well, but be careful about your exposure, because it's easier to crush your blacks or whites in dynamic than it is in Standard.

Do you mean the NR attribute of the film modes? I haven't tried it much, does it work well?

its a plugin for post work on your NLE. works much like noise reduction plugins for photos but for video. I have only seen a few videos floating around and it seems to do an alright job at cleaning things up to a degree, not sure about banding though.. Have yet to try it myself. Neat video is another one worth looking at too.

Neat Video is very good. I have it and it can do some very good cleaning. It also loses less sharpness than other noise reduction plugins I've used.
