Hello everyone ........ Do u guys suggest me to buy GH1 I am new here.. please and how much i can buy it? help please .... thanx!

ahhhh young grasshoppa....

well first, welcome to the forum- congrats on finding the best damn place on the net!!

second- let me just say that the answer to such a question is impossible to be answered by anyone else but you. I guarantee that I'm beating MadHMC150 to the punch by saying - "it depends on what your needs are..what may work for me, may or may not work for you..." and this is true

I would suggest using the search function here and conducting some research, decide what your needs are- see if the cam fits the bill.

The GH-1 is a fantastic camera with great features-

It's available at B&H, you can take a look at it here:

The GH1 is an awesome camera if you are looking for a video camera with tons of manual settings, SLR-lens and DOF, and/or need both a DSLR and a camcorder all in one.

I used a Nikon D60 for my SLR, and if you are planning on only using a photo camera, this is the way to go on a budget.

I also used a Canon Vixia HF10 camcorder, and it is an excellent camcorder but lacks the sensor-size, manual features, SLR-lens capability and DOF of a DSLR for video.

If you are interested in the GH1, you can get it complete with the 14-140mm auto-focus kit lens for $1,049 (refurbished), here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...olp_refurbished?ie=UTF8&condition=refurbished

Here's a small sample of what this camera can do. Now, these are only screen grabs, but they do indeed look incredible. I have gotten so many compliments so far as to 'how much they look like a movie'

Thanks skinny! And, having a ball all the way! I just love the ability to use different lens'. Glad I made the jump. I'm still getting used to the system as I feel you have to know some photography to use this camera effectively. Still learning, lol...

Another grab from the film I am working on...
