Some time ago somebody published very detailed picture of GH1's main electronic board. Was it on this forum??

What did you mean??
And, of course, one important difference is that I am using separate switches for FOCUS and for TRIGGERING shots. Before each shot I first focus (always!!), then I trigger the shot. David, can you try it with your cameras as well?
I'll have the GH2 14-42mm kit lenses that I could use to test - as soon as my GH2s arrive.
What kind of lenses are you using? I'm achieving near perfect sync at all frame rates / resolutions - including 720 60P - but - ONLY with manual lenses that have no electrical connection to the camera body. Your "power-up at the same time" and "ganged shutter release" techniques are exactly what we are all doing here.

..."simultaneous shutter release" and" simultaneous power on" to start clock of each camera are enough to achieve the practical sync for 3D video shooting of several minute clips, I think.
...Letting me know how to use external battery for GH2 or Sony CX560V or 700V
Did anyone actually look for a genlock-pin as described in the beginning of this huge thread?
Did anyone actually try the connection of GND+REMOTE of 2 cameras?
Are there any examples of unsynced 3d-shots or shots >30min running out of sync?
Don't know how this works from a remote shutter, though
That's what I mean... with the GH1 the remote doesn't do double duty - it either snaps a still (photo mode) or starts/stops recording (video modes). In ANY case - it's a polled port (as is the 5D) so I would not count on it for perfect sync.
The fact that synced stills can be taken with GH1's suggests you may be wrong about that David
