GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

The wait is almost over. Just got my B&H email shipping confirmation. Should arrive on Friday.
Very excited to say the least.
 
great to see that atleast there is still some enthusiasm about GH1 left on this forum. Most of the people seem to be either jumping ships or are hoping to jump ship soon.
 
I hear you. I do not get why (I know they are only a few) GH1 owners already regretting about their cameras and acting AS IF GH1 has been the hindering reason they do not could not create a great footage.

And all that because of a couple hands-on previews of 7D and a couple sample footages that do not look any better than the first few GH1 sample footages we saw when it first came out?

Just got mine today. So far so good. I have no idea what I'm doing yet but the footage looks pretty good from the small testing I have done. The only regret about the 7d coming out is that maybe if I waited I could have picked the gh1 up for a few bucks cheaper but no big deal. Im looking to get the best out this cam I can and than in a few months when they are easily available, IF it holds up to the hype, I will give some thought to the 7d.
 
Got mine yesterday from Samy's after canceling my Panasonic Direct order. I'm pretty excited about it as I delve into the features. Yes, the 7D sounds cool, but it coming out doesn't change what was exciting about the GH1 three days ago...
 
!!! I want my gh1! People jumping on the 7d, give me your GH1!! been stalking sites and i swear i always miss bhphoto by like minutes. argh...made a preorder on crutchfield says they will get some by the 14th, hopefully I can find a gh1 before then.
 
I admit having been caught up in the 7D hype, so my poor little GH1 has sat ignored for a couple of days. But ... man, just seeing that still frame of the "straw man" I shot for the DOF test, let me just reiterate -- you guys are in for a treat. The GH1 footage can be exquisitely awesome.
 
Good job on the straw man test Barry. I'd be interested in seeing such a test with some other cameras. Ordered a GH1 from PD yesterday and it supposedly will be arriving tomorrow. We'll see... ordering from PD is a little odd.
 
Gee, Barry, I had to squint a little to see a difference, but I do see it :grin:

This makes me feel so much better about the GH1. I love my 150, but the GH1 looks like it will be an excellent main cam for weddings, with my 150 as the locked-down wide cam.

Nice test Barry. The GH1 shot looks like a photograph while the HMC150 looks like a frame grab of a video. I can see the difference in DOF as well. Looks great. Jaggy's are a little more noticeable but overall I prefer the look of the GH1.
