Sorry to hear about your experience. I can't tell you how many times I was at the order page and something always stopped me from pressing it. Now, after reading about yours and other people's experience with them, I'm glad that I was able to held myself back and didn't buy it from them.

Once I even called them and the CS person sweared that they are selling US/NTSC version.
 
Well, looks like my Crutchfield order is shipping today. I was #2 on the wait list and originally told it would be shipping on 09/14/09. Fingers crossed I should have it in a few days.

I ordered it on July 14 from Adorama, as the price was $1,499 total.
Still not shipped.
Anyone else order a GH! from Adorama?
Any results?
 
Man that sucks. I was so close to ordering from them. I posted about it- I called and recorded my conversations with them where they verified everything was US. I guess they lied. Lesson here is never order from places that don't say things in writing- that's how you can dispute it with paypal at least. Time2Envy never specified on their listing what they were really offering.
 
Finally got someone helpful over at J&R, I believe his name was Vito.

He was able to go investigate and tell me that they received 20 units today, and that they are to receive another 24 on Monday, and then another 24 the following week.

He couldn't tell me exactly where I was on the backorder list, but was confident that mine would ship next week.

I've already got a Nikon adapter & an intervelometer on order from Hong Kong, now I've got to see what's taking Bing so long with my cashback.

I preordered from Adorama on 8/17, so I'm probably near the back of the queue. I started to think something was up, yesterday, because Amazon was taking preorders/backorders (at $1499.00) during a brief window, and all the vendors that participate in the Bing cashback program lowered the percent back on the GH1.
 
Now that I have this puppy in my hands, does anybody know of brick and mortar stores in the Los Angeles area that sells adapters for the MFT cams?

You might want to post that question in the GH1 hardware forum because I'm sure a lot of people have stopped looking at this thread after they have gotten theirs.
 
Ordered mine from Adorama on 6/26 and it was shipped out on 7/28.
No problems except for the waiting and not knowing when it would be in stock.
 
I signed up for NowInStock order alerts a few weeks ago. This evening I got an email from them saying that Amazon had the camera in stock for $1,499. Every time this happened before, I would go to whatever site they claimed had them in stock and, surprise surprise, they were out of stock. But today it was in stock. I ordered it and they are telling me it will be delivered on Tuesday! Hopefully it will.
 
I also got one from amazon last night....Tuesday delivery....cancelled the pana direct order but was told by olga that next week they should get 50 or more..
 
I'll be placing my order tomorrow and I was thinking Panny Direct but it seems like Amazon or crutchfields are getting them in often now. Does anyone know if either of them charge NY sales tax.
