GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

So a few pages back, I said my 7.23 order was going to get here 8/18 or 19, well fellas, it showed up yesterday (8/13)!!!!!!!!! Just 1.5 days after I received my confirmation w/o any extra in shipping. I ordered from PD. Needless to say, I didn't get any homework done! I ordered by calling PD, since Safari wasn't acting right with the site.

BTW. My camera came with manuals in 5 different languages AND has the Canada-Only Envelope. On the outside of the box is printed "NTSC Output Only". Just trowing that in there for people still trying to figure out their grey market stuff.

Enough with trolling this thread, off to go make some art!

PS - If you're wanting this cam, I'd definitely go through PD. This way you know you're getting a US model, and in my case, my wait period wasn't THAT long. I'm so thankful for their service!

The ones we bought them from ebay also come with Canada only warranty. I think it's just registration for Canada in addition to US warranty.
 
UPDATE: Panasonic Direct order looks good so far...

I'll let you all know if I get it, supposed to be next Wednesday, so Order 8/12 Delivery 8/19?..

Yarg! Come on camera! Come to daddy! Daddy needs his medicine!! I have a J&R preorder from 8/1, no activity on that as we all know. I'm tempted to jump ship to PD. The whole thing is a silly crapshoot tho, and both getting charged at once would break me. I've got the rest of the peices of my low budget green screen studio setup and waiting, did some test stuff with free point and shoot I got..

I pre-ordered from J&R too and so far nothing. I emailed customer service today and they replied by saying that they still do not have an ETA from Panasonic so they do not know when they will get it. If it wasn't was for the price for the price that I'm getting from them, I would have switched to PD too

While we do sell direct import ("grey market"), all items are clearly marked as such on the website.

Are you getting better than MSRP from them? Can the rest of us who haven't ordered yet too?

Well, using Bing cash back, I got 12% ($180) cash back plus I had some gift certs, totaling $300 so $1500 - $480 = $1020. So GH1 will end up costing me just a little over thousand :D

Now at PD, with tax I would end up paying about $1670. So don't you think that its worth waiting a little longer to save almost $600 ? :)

Thanks... I thought 6% from Adorama was the best I could do, so this is great! Did the cashback show up for the preorder, or only after the order is shipped? Where can I see that it is 12%?

BTW, I completely agree with you, the savings is worth the (hopefully short) delay!

If it were my decision, I'd give EVERY member of dvx user a free GH1........I expect that's why I'm not allowed anywhere near the sales department or the warehouse!

Cashback didn't show up instantly, I had to contact Bing Customer Service but now it shows up in my Cashback accoung as "pending". Goto this page and click on "J". J&R should be the first store listed along with the current cashback that it is offering.
 
Ordered mine form Panasonic Direct on Tuesday Aug 11. Was supposed to arrive on Friday but UPS lost the label.

Arrived in Minnesota today (Monday the 17th.) Battery is charging - can't wait!
