GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

All of a sudden today a G1, yes a G1, has been added to my original GH1 order made on the 23rd of June. So now there is a GH1 and G1 in my order..

They charged my account for over 800 bucks for G1 and overnight shipping.. I'm gonna scream.........

I called and spoke to Mark an agent, and a Supervisor Alex. They can't figure out how this even happen. However now Im being shipped a G1

This just adds insult to injury; they can't get me the camera I ordered, and then do this!

I'm F-ing sick of this sh*t with Panasonic Direct.........

Somethings got to happen!

That GH1 order was made 25 days ago and has been intact. Looked at it no less than twice a day since. BAM ===> G1 added to order today! This is so insane..


I just checked my Wells Bank Account- Yep : $890.45 cents taken from bank account!

Bastards!

My Bank Card was charged $890.45. I used that to just pay for the GH1 out right!

I don't want that G1 sitting here for a single second. Panasonic Direct so royally screwed up.


I so regret now not putting my order in with B&H last month!

Shopatron charged my card. The wait is finally coming to an end. I had given up checking until I saw people were getting charged by Shopatron. So...wow.

first order placed May 15 with Adorama then a June 4 order with Panasonic direct. charged July 17. i guess in the wider scheme of things its not too terrible.

So sorry to read about all your drama Pappas. I hope you can speak to sara and get your money back. Be careful too that your GH1 order is not rejected because of credit limit maxed out.
 
Sorry to hear about your G1 woes! Was it a check card, or an actual charge card? This kind of situation is a good reason to use a charge card. With a bank card, they've taken your money and you have to beg to get it back. With a charge card you can dispute it, and generally the moment you put it in dispute they temporarily suspend the charges so you're not responsible for them, until they decide to suspend the charges permanently, or if they decide against you, to charge them back to you. Anyway, I don't mean to lecture or kick you when you're already down -- but now you know.

If it makes you feel any better...it looks like May orders are just starting to trickle in? I didn't order until JULY 1 :2vrolijk_08: so y'all are going to be off making movies and I'll still be in here talking to myself :lipsrseal

I talked to Sara's supervisor ( Alex ), and he's the one that said are you sure you didn't order both a G1 a GH1 last month. I could of screamed!

I was like; well I have an email confirm showing my initial order for a GH1 totaling $1,633. I have screen captures of the order page for record. Not to mention I have checked my order twice a day for the past 25 days on P-Directs site.... He said there's nothing they can do, just to not to except the shipment, and he referred it to another department.

This really sucks!
 
Just got mine today, ordered from Panisonic Direct on June 2nd. The wait is finally over...Now I just have to figure out how to get my G5 to play nice with it. Hope all the other pre-orders come in soon.
 
My still camera of choice is a Pentax, and I love it, and I want the K7. For stills. I really think the GH1 outshines it by far for video.

this is amazing footage imo... but the one thing i'll say is that the gh1 so far looks to me to output a more cinematic look. this looks like a REALLY REALLY good video camera.

oh and it only does 720. but honestly i think that's enough? you can upconvert and it should look pretty good.

very impressed with the k7.
 
Pappas, that sucks man. Hope you get it all sorted out. I figured I'd check my order (June 22) after I read what you said. My order status on Panasonic Direct's site has changed, but no G1 added. They've removed the extra battery I ordered (which has already shipped) from the order status page.

Here's hoping the increased activity means more cameras will be moving out soon, and hoping you get the G1 bulls**t sorted out and made right :beer:

(Okay, that's probably just wishful thinking and drinking...time to bring my hopes back down)

Your bank will most likely credit your account the amount you're disputing instantly. That way you can still have the GH1 charged to it when it actually ships. They'll send you a form to fill out and sign and then you mail that back. If Panasonic fixes everything and credits your card back then you can cancel the dispute. In the meantime you can still use your card to buy the camera.
 
Oh yeah, I guess before I made it sound like if you use a debit card you're totally out of luck -- but it just depends on your bank. I'd certainly, most definitely call them and see if they can help you out.

Unbelievable is right. This has been a nightmare! Those Dip-sh*ts are now making me stay home
tomorrow so to stop delivery of the G1 if it comes!

Like I said, it's not your responsibility. Call your bank and dispute the charge. They'll credit your account while it's investigated. Put a note on your door for UPS that says you're refusing the package. They'll send it back and you can enjoy the day doing whatever you want.
 
You need to milk this for all it's worth. Climb the supervisor chain, etc. They should be sending you a GH1 today for this ****.

Friday turned into a Nightmare on Panny street reality. I will follow the advice with the note for UPS and also get in contact with the Headquarters on the east coast first thing Monday and start that milking. :) No one should have to go through this crap for a camera..

Again, I really appreciate the support from all of you! Makes me feel better...

I know how you feel pappas... There are nice people over there but their policies are obviously totally out of wack. When they screw up (like my case where they charged my card, said it was on the way, and then 10 days later reversed the charge) they claim they have no way of fixing the situation... Then it's stuff like two options... 'cancel your order or STFU' (not literally but sort of 'round about ways')

Not to get your blood boiling even more but.... I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to made you 're-submit' your order.
