Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I know JR was putting holds on peoples cards even though they didn't have any stock. Which didn't make any sense to me at all.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I know JR was putting holds on peoples cards even though they didn't have any stock. Which didn't make any sense to me at all.
This can't be right - that they filled orders up until June 16th. I placed my order on June 10th, my status hasn't changed from "First Available June 2009". I checked this morning. I spoke to Sara a few weeks ago and she told me they are expecting shipments in August.
This whole thing just does not add up. Why would they accept pre-orders if those that pre-order through them would get the product last? It would make sense for them not to accept any pre-orders so we would naturally go to Amazon or B&H.

Well then you should have your camera on the way to you based I what I was told today! LOL!
Of course I was told yesterday there are no GH1's and there wouldn't be tell August; however no set date is made. So how come today yes, tomorrow it will be December....... In 2010!
Oh, I called B&H, they told me next week they might get more! Based I what I was told, Panny-D fulfills orders last , second to dealer PO's...... Could be true!

Panasonic is lying through their teeth to people. I have a supervisor from their e-commerce division living me a phone message saying no such cameras are even here and wont be tell August less than 24hrs ago....

I am so close to just picking up a Pentax K7. If I can't get a GH1 by next week I'll probably do it. Pixel-peeping aside, most of the new crop of SLR's have amazing looking video. I'll be content either way.

They had several colors of G1 but they didn’t even list the GH1 on their web site. I gave them a call and innocently asked if they had any GH1s in stock and the guy says, “sure, I think we do, let me check”. A couple of minutes later he comes back and says, “they’re sold out but I think we have one in our Denver store. Let me check and I’ll call you back in five minutes”. Ten minutes later he calls me back and says, "they’ve got one at our Denver store and I can ship it out to you tomorrow morning." Yippee!!
I just check UPS tracking and the camera left Boulder, CO at 7:00pm Wednesday, arrived in UPS’s central shipping hub in Louisville, KY at 9:51am Thursday, and was scanned into Seattle, WA at 6:35pm. I’ll get the camera in the morning. This afternoon I canceled my May 5th J&R order and my June 20th Panasonic direct order.
It does appear that a few cameras have been trickling into some of Panny’s smaller brick and mortar customers. I got lucky. I’m sorry that so few of us who have read all 99 pages of these posts have gotten the camera, but you all have been surprisingly good humored and supportive. Thanks and Good luck!!!!!!!!!

My GH1 Comes tomorrow! Got the tracking number and it's in transit via express mail! Seriously, you guys should keep an eye out for ebay seller 4funblue, I don't know if he has any more cameras, but he was a pleasure to deal with, and after I used Bing.com to ease some of my pain from the mark up, it wasn't too bad of a deal in order to get the camera. Plus his price was innitially lower than the listings i see up right now.

So I'm not sure what is going to happen with my order. Shopatron had placed a hold on the funds in my card, but now I look at it and it's gone. This is driving me nuts.

Mine too. Ordered June 22 when it said "In Stock." Their system's so messed up. I wish we could get an honest, up-front answer as to what's going on instead of piecing it together like a bunch of Panny Detectives.
Now I'm getting Sh**atron and Panasonic emailing back and forth:

this is totally pathetic.... the 'wackest' part is when I communicate with panasonic they keep saying I placed the order through sh**atron... Ummm... no YOU placed the order through them!!

Yeah whoever found one at a local dealer (Mike's camera of Denver) got dang lucky.
I just spent a frantic hour or so calling random camera stores across the nation (What did we do before cell phones and free long distance?), nobody else I've found has one in stock...
Of course that's assuming you can even find a Panasonic dealer. If anybody has a decent way of producing a list of dealers, I'd be interested. The website tool is useless...I called for kicks, but I was connected to a call center in India where they were obviously using the exact same tool.
I just spent a frantic hour or so calling random camera stores across the nation (What did we do before cell phones and free long distance?), nobody else I've found has one in stock...
