GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

Wow. So I checked my card and found that Shopatron has put a hold on my card for the GH1. I called and the order status said that it is supposed to ship in the next business day. That'll be nice, I'll let you all know if it comes through.
 
Awesome! Hope that works out! I had canceled my order with them as my GH1 is en route and about to arrive. Probably should have waited...still didn't want to GH1s...well I mean I did but my pockets didn't.

What is Shopatron? I notice some people got Shopatron or PanaDirect? I got PD.

it's so pathetic that this thread is already 963 posts long....and shows no signs of stopping. i used to be a fan of panasonic...............
 
I put my order in on the 3rd of June. Shopatron is an ordering service that Panasonic used to handle some of their web orders. There is a thread on them somewhere.

We still don't whether or not anyone has actually received their order if it went through Shopatron. If I get my camera early next week, I'll be the first that I know of to have an order shipped through them. I had given up hope, glad I didn't cancel yet though.

Pfft June 3. Before I canceled I was June 4 shopatron so that probably meant September. lol. Good luck!
 
I just spoke to Panasonic Direct (they called me back). LOL, she said some people are getting them on Ebay... is that what it has come to? The cust service person suggested ebay! :)

She said they did get a shipment of cameras, but since my order doesn't have any ship date listed, it won't likely be covered by the most recent shipment. So she is guessing August now. She said it was a guess. The only reason for this is that they expect new shipments in mid month.

What does your status say on their website? When did you order?
 
Talked to Panasonic person today, seemed a lot better than the others. Her name is Sara. Anyway she said they are getting a shipment on the 20th and that my June 5th order should ship out on the 21st. I'll keep you guys updated.

I'm afraid to call back again today because I'm near sure another rep will tell me September '09 again. I asked if she was positive that it was going to come and she said she couldn't guarentee but she did say pretty firmly that they are getting a shipment on the 20th and that since my order has been in there for a good while that it would be in the latest.
 
$2500 is way too much.

Well, I paid $2415 (equivalent) for mine - which is the going rate in Australia, and still below the Panasonic recommended price here.

Why did I pay that? Because it was sitting there all alone in the shop, waiting to be given a good home. And because you guys said it was good.

And you were right!

Sara is one of the nice ones.

I had her twice over the past three weeks; the unfortunate is, Sara's info as great as it was, all the 6 agents including two supervisors have told me the opposite of Sara's info.

I'm starting to think Sara feels our pain and just wants us to smile......

As well I spoke with Candice; who left a very informative and polite message on my phone from the E-commerce division of Panasonic in Washington state said that August is the earliest any shipments might come. I was also informed by the Supervisor that all dealers and corporate PO's are filled first and what is left over goes to fulfilling Panasonic direct orders.

So I just called after reading your post, and first they told me nothing has changed since I last spoke to them. Then I mentioned your post; and the agent said" oh yeah we just shipped orders place up to the 16th of June and mine( 23rd ) should go out when more come in. However no idea when that would be! So at first I was told none, mentioned your post; and yeah we just sent ones out right behind yours.


Man, it's disturbing! What's real, what's not!
