I know that AI Nikon and FD Lens are the best bang for the bucks but
you know looking around for something better.

Researching for a good low light lens and I found this.

My budget is $1000 and while waiting for the
New Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 Nokton in m4/3 I found this Nokton.
Wow this seems to be an impressive lens and it's about $860 on ebay.

If you have a suggestion for less than $1K please let me know.

WOWSER! Very impressive. I would call this the BEST LOWLIGHT GH1 footy I've seen. It's nice to see that it is possible....obviously shooint that wide open has it's problems...but thanks for posting!

This seems to be better but way out of my budget. Wow, it's only $6000.
Leica M 50mm f/1.0 Noctilux.

Now I need to find a bank to rob. :)

Thanks dust'n the callipygous.

Actually I was looking for a review for that and this guy prefers the 50mm f1.1
I mean, the image speaks for itself, seeing the images above in low light.

"I have to say that you can buy another 50mm lens that will perform better in almost every way for an extra $300 or so. I am talking about the Voigtlander 50 Nokton 1.1. It is a sharper lens, has better color, better contrast and is almost as fast with a 1.1 aperture. But, that lens is for Leica M mount and you will need an adapter to use it, so more expense. It’s also a fatter (larger) lens. But if 0.95 is what you want then the Noktor may be the lens you are looking for."

Hmm this is interesting. The Noktor is a steples aperture lens, making it good for video. But what about the new Voightlander 25mm f/.95. Is that a stepless apertue lens?
