GH1 Imovie 9 workflow

Sorry if this has been covered before, couldn't find answer anywhere.

I have Imovie 9 and FCE 3.5. Looking to export footage to imovie and then to FCE.

Imovie 9 won't import footage directly from GH1, keep getting a red line across the footage. Footage is 24p.

Any suggestions?

Is this even the best workflow for my current setup?

It's a diagonal red line across the footage. I can't click on the clips at all.

Did you transcode the GH1 footage to MOV format? Use Voltaic to transcode to AIC MOV format. Import into Imovie 9. or FCE

I think you have to upgrade to iMovie 11 to import files from the GH cameras (if memory serves). Look into that.

The other option if you have the money is to just go with FCP X and forget about FCE.
