Hi guys!*

I need small help about hardware for GH1..

My situation: I'm film-school student, I bought GH1 with the kit-lens + 20mm 1.7 lens ..
I'm ****ed-up by the noramll lens focus so I tought I need a follow focus, rig + some shoulder stabilizer system ... I'm shooting like short film projects, live shows, promo-videos. You know, I need like easy to setup things ... I dont need something special.. Maybe cheap ones because I have like ~1000$ for this.. So can you recomend me some stuff that fits the GH1 best for small price?*

Thanks!**

wow! verry nice!! Can you say that "DSLR KIT-11- Shoulder Mount Follow focus with Matte Box" is compatibile with GH1? Im afraid about the Matte Box and the lens ... do you think that 20mm Pana lens is fine with this Matte Box? And what about the kit lens?

Link? Matte boxes can be expensive and unnecessary depending on what you plan to do. Sure you really need one?

Well, this can be a perfect kit for me! http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/product.php?productid=302&cat=0&page=0&featured=Y .. But I need to be sure about the compatibility.. and for "only" 1000$! .. what do you think?

Btw. the Matte Box will be perfect for me ... And no, I don´t need it just to be "COOL" ..

DVCity/Cine City matte boxes get very mixed reviews, mostly bad from what I've seen. I've heard they're flimsy and cheap. That said, I've never tried one so I can't judge. It's not bad for beginners, but there are certainly cheaper and higher quality options.

Wasn't suggesting you just want to look "cool". It's sometimes hard for a beginner to guage what he/she truly needs with all the gear and (mis)information going around. I'd suggest shooting for a little while before determining whether or not you need it. That's money that can go to something you may find more necessary. And looking "cool" sometimes is a good reason to buy something if it means impressing a client enough to hire you.

@vcassel:
You are right! ... But I was shooting a while with GH1 many actions and promo-videos but after some time I just find out that I need a follow focus and some stabilizer .. I´m still not sure about the matte box .. I just saw the matte box in that kit..

The Sidewinder Basic Offset Shoulder looks good! And can you suggest some nice follow focus? The best will be in combination with Shoulder mount ..

You'll definintely need a stabilizer of some sort if you want moving shots, though using a tripod/dolly combo is the preferred way to go for most scenerios.

You may need a follow focus if you're doing visual narrative storytelling. The D|focus has great resell value.

1) D|Focus Version 3
2) Sidewinder Basic Offset Shoulder

This can be a good combination? Do I need some extra mount or rail system for this combination?
