Hi,

Does anyone know whether it is possible to adjust the GH1 settings to these low res anamorphic settings like 1024x416 square pixels?

I am going to make a hiphop video for kids; posting it on youtube and I prefer a cinematic feel.

Thanks for any advice!

Can't you just crop off the top and bottom of the 1920x1080 image with black bars during editing and then scale down the result?

Yes thanks , I was also thinking of that, but I wondered if it is possible to alter the settings, so I don't have to mess around with duct tape :Drogar-Mark-10(DBG)(or how are you guys normally do that?)

The GH1's MJPEG video mode can be hacked to use a variety of anamorphic frame sizes, assuming you're using an anamorphic adapter. For detailed information on how this is accomplished, see the following thread:

Anamorphic Cinemascope in Native 1920x810 MJPEG Mode

I don't really need the full HD 1920x810 version, maily because I have no anamorphic adapter (yet, I am looking for one; and hoping to find something around 300 euro's or so. So any tips are welcome!)

No I just wondered, once again, I just need those framesizes to shoot with my standard 14-140 lens. But I'll look up your link as well! Thank you!

You can. But the purpose of anamorphic adapters is to squeeze more information into a narrower frame. So that when you desqueeze the footage in post (or by using the hacked fw) you should get a better resolution picture than you would if you just cropped in post. Also, an anamorphic adapter gives you a much wider fov than a standard lens.
