GH1/GH2 Weatherproofing Brainstorm

Has anyone used the GH1/2 in adverse weather? If so, did you do anything to protect the body from the elements? Of does anyone have any creative ideas on how to do so? I have a GH13, and since the body has almost identical dimensions, this applies to the GH2 as well.

i wish a third party company would make a GH1 mould and cast a silicon skin body cover, seals up all the buttons, dials & seams, id imagine you would still be able to turn the dial.
do the same with lens covers, the body skin and lens skin would be screwed together creating a water tight seal, front of lens skin have a built in filter.
LCD screen probably have a GGS screen guard type thing.

100% waterproof and available in neon colours too! haha

id imagine the rain covers in the above link would work better, looks like an evidence bag tho

That would definitely be nice. I hadn't seen some of those covers before, they look interesting. I wonder if they'd fit over my audio rigging...

you may laugh but i thought about an umbrella modified to fit on my tripod/rig  has to be vertical rain tho, so sideways windy rain allowed.

the kata tflak pointed out looks good, if its designed to house cams like the 7D there must be room for the GH1 and some audio equipment.

I once had to film most of a wedding with an umbrella wedged into the hand strap of my camera (previous cam, not my GH13). It was not an experience I'd like to repeat.

Also, tflak, that looks awesome. Have you used it? I wonder if a preamp and field recorder would fit in :D

found the answer

actually I am making a mod for a waterproof camera bag to be able to be hard mounted on a pole or tripod. If it works i will post the results up. If not ......... I don't want to even imagine

Have only used the Kata a couple of times - it's plenty big and of good quality. But have to admit it pales in comparison to the solution terra1 came up with. :)
