GH1, GH2 EVF Eyecup

I have the same grip. Not so heavy on the base hand.

The handle is centered on the body at the tripod mount. It's leaned forward a bit so that it balances better with a lens. Because right hand is not holding the body, it gives more room for left hand when manual focusing.

With a good eyecup, the three points support can give a decent stabilization.

Would definitely be interested! As long as I could still mount a mic on top (i.e. rode videomic).

If less than 20$, and if that includes shipping to Sweden, I would buy two. One for my GH2 and on for the GH1.

This is a prototyoe version of the EVF Eyecup for a GH1 and GH2. It consists of an aluminium base plate with a large rubber eyecup, which fits perfectly into the existing EVF and is mounted by sliding it in to the cameras hotshoe bracket. There is also an option to add a coldshoe to top of the base plate as well.

I have made a few of these up for our production rigs and they work and hold up very well. They make it allot easier to see the EVF without letting any light in, and it is much more comfortable than the standard EVF rubber frame.

That looks really good to me. Maybe you could add a screw to tighten the eye cup to the hot shoe?

As everyone is posting their limit for a peace I´ll join in: As well-crafted as it looks I´d pay up to 30 Euros (ca 40-50$?) for it with hot shoe on top and maybe that screw to tighten it.

I don´t like those other numbers "20$ and please put a Big Mac into the box with free shipping and light a candle for me".
Reasonable quality has to cost a reasonable price, buying cheap means buying twice. I keep learning that lesson everytime I fall for something cheap.

Over ´n Out.

I second that!

Good quality lasts many years. Poor quality hardly lasts just one year. An eyecup selling for $50 made of high grade materials will allow maybe a 20 percent profit after fabrication. Factor in marketing and overhead and you have a broke manufacturer. But if a cheap one is fabricated at a selling price of $20 there are going to be a lot of returns from unhappy customers resulting in a broke manufacturer. So, please make a first rate quality product and price it accordingly.
