GH1, GH2 EVF Eyecup

I am interested any idea on price yet. Thanks!
I havn't a price yet. I'm going to be looking at alluminum or some other composites for the bracket material, they need to be both strong and light. The rubber eyecup will also be custom fabricated with an additional window to allow for the auto on/off sensor to work. I just added that feature to my cad drawing tonight. I will be meeting with some fabricators in the next few days. I should have more details within a few weeks.

Looking & sounding good rigs...I'm interested too, I shoot a lot of surfing & the need for a good eyecup is paramount. Sun glare of the water & sand is gnarly.

I guess it would be a good idea to have an option for a larger cup for those who want to use it with their glasses on. How big is the Nikon rubber piece you suggest?
No larger cup won't help those looking through evf with their glasses on. I take off my glasses when using evf. I meant that the rubber piece seems the most likely to be broken and it would be nice to be easily replaceable. Nikon DX bodies can have eyepiece like this,

I don't know exact dimension of the rectangular plastic clip though...

That Nikon eyepiece looks to be the kind of shape I'd like. Really contoured and snug fit. Awesome. Ideally, I think one that was all rubber or rubber and plastic and fit onto where the existing rubber frame is would be perfect.

in order to replace the existing rubber frame you would have to unscrew its bracket from the camera, you would also need to press it into the EVF frame as well. The hotshoe mount is the easiest and sturdiest way to go.

Thats the same eyecup I use for my mod...its snug...also makes your eye sweat!

Depends on the fastening solution really... You can find eyecups for almost nothing... take the following for example...

So lets' say you're using a few dollars worth of aluminum and the hotshoe solutions....

Somewhere between $15 - $20 dollars?

I have no idea how long it takes to put it together. Keep me posted!

Having a rig with all gadgets neatly attached is nice, but compact run-and-gun style has its own merit such as getting more candid shots.

This eyecup plus a hand-grip with video trigger on/off button would stabilize a lot better than hand-held.

But this one is missing the trigger button.

I saw a trigger handgrip from Japanese magazine cover, but I just can't find it from the states. Anyone?

You are spot on!
Do you have a picture to that magazine cover? or the name of the mag? I would love to have that handgrip (right now I'm always using the H4n's mic clip adapter;))

And of course I'm looking forward to the Eyecup here.

But how does the grip makes it easier on holding the lens
With the other hand and focusing? Let me know on this please.
