GH1/GH17 Canon FD 35mm F/2.0 or FD 20mm f/2.8

I have these lenses for video work using the gh1/gh17:

Canon Lens FD 28mm f/2.8
Canon FD 50mm f/1.4
Canon FD 135mm f/2.8

Between the 35mm and the 20mm which is more essential given what I already have. Or is there another comparable lens that I should look into in the price range?

If it was me I would sell the 28mm and get a 20mm and the 35mm as I personally like the FOV of 35mm the best on m4/3.

With your curent line up you don't really need a 20mm or a 35mm. Your 28mm is halfway between both, but having said that the FD 35mm is a nice lens and I would go that route personally.

YMMV

Thanks for the reply. There isn't much footage to look at with the 35mm but from what I've seen it's impressive.

Well, "Closing Time" and "The Farmer's Flea Market" in my sig link are shot entirely with a Canon FD 35mm f/2.0 - I love it.

I'd keep the 28mm or better, get the f/2.0 version or the 24mm if you can find it. My FD set-up is: 20mm 2.8, 24mm 2.0, 28mm 2.0, 35mm 2.0 (x2!), 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8 & 100mm 2.8 - wouldn't want to be without any of them although the 35mm is on at least 60% of the time.

For me, i would sell the 28mm F2.8 and get the 20mm and 35mm. My 28mm F2.8 flares up so much so im starting not to like it, not sure if yours does that to, but even when its not in direct sunlight or even that much sun light it flares up.

Well I got a 35mm f/2 but i got it for cheaper than I expected so I might get something else. i guess I might sell the 28mm and maybe get either the 20mm or 85mm 1.8

With a 35mm f2 lens, I'd replace the 28mm with a 24mm f2 or f2.8. I'd also replace the 135mm f2.8 with an 85mm f1.8. On a GH1, 135mm is useful mostly when shooting tripod-mounted head shots of a performer on stage.

Why 24mm as opposed to the 20mm?
There's a huge FOV gap between 20mm and 35mm. The FOV change 24mm to 35mm is similar to the change from 35mm to 50mm. Also the 72mm filter barrel on wide-angle Canon FD's will rotate when you adjust focus, making it unsuitable for use with polarizers and anamorphics. (Though that may not be a concern in your case.)
