GH1 flash - no burst mode?

I've discovered that the Gh1 flash can't fire in burst mode (quick sequence of 2-3 shots). I can shoot in burst mode without the flash, but once you enable it, or in my case, put a trigger for an external flash on it, it can't fire in bursts anymore.

has anyone observed this also? Does anyone know of a workaround?

You'd see a dramatic improvement in flash recovery with a hot shoe mounted flash. Not sure if it would be quick enough for burst though.

This is the case with any DSLR's inbuilt flash. It cannot recharge fast enough to get ready for the next shot. Depending on the camera, it will either not trigger the shutter until the flash is ready or it will shoot without the flash resulting in one properly exposed image then a sequence of severely underexposed images.

The solution is an external flash, though you'll need to use it in manual mode with a lower power setting otherwise it will still have rpoblems recharging in time just like the internal flash. And you'll want to shoot everything fully manual otherwise you'll get some major exposure changes from frame to frame. If you really want to shoot sequences with flash then a strobe is the way to go. I've seen some pretty amazing snowboarding sequences shot at sunset with a 7d at 8fps using a strobe for fill light.
