GH1 availability around the world thread

a rep from mostly digital called today when i was at work, so i missed the call, there was one camera available (someone backed out of their order just a few days ago, ouch!) and i'm 90% sure i ended up getting this camera, i was charged on the card, but i didn't receive the email with the tracking number, when i called back another rep answered and said the person handling my sale was helping a customer so he took down my email to pass along, but he seriously rushed me off the phone, i didn't mind because i was sneaking the call in at work but now that i still haven't recieved the tracking number i'm gettin' antsy, they said i would have it by friday if it was shipped today...
 
My wife just call me at work... the camera is home... just received it... I think I'm gonna take the day off.. :) sorry for those who still waiting... but I'm so happy :) I feel like a kid at Chrismas Eve... damn, I just turn 50 last november.
 
Called shopatron, June 4th order is supposed to go out on June 29th >.< Two more weeks, just two more weeks....and then 3-7 business days. Ahhh! At least June 29th is a monday, and I suppose since Shopatron fills orders locally (right?) maybe it will ship fast.
 
BHphotovideo says estimated arrival in July. I planned on getting mine in July anyway. Anybody ordered from there yet?

shipment confirmed by mostlydigital.ca today, i was on three waiting lists, they had the best price and they said i'll have it by friday (but not holding my breath on that, probably monday/tuesday). i think they will be available before these vendors say they will be, i'm sure panasonic is keeping them up in the air just like they are keeping all of us up in the air
 
Shopatron customer service just quoted me GH1's arriving to be shipped on the 25th of June.

The only way you can change your shipping to a more expedited variety is to cancel your order and place a new one with new shipping instructions.

She didn't seem to think that was risking putting the order in back-order status again but I am taking my chances (I leave for Austin on July 1!)

Not sure why everyone got told June 25th from Shopatron even other June 4th people and I got told June 29th, probably a quirk of where I am located as they do local vendors...hmmm...maybe she misspoke or misread? That'd be amazing. A 9 and a 5 kind of look similar on paper...

Loads of time to do B-roll and car mount stuff before the real shoot begins now that I pushed it back. My feature starts today(well, maybe tomorrow after the hangover).

Not the story I got, I can tell you that. I was told 'back ordered' with an expected date of 7/6 to BEGIN deliveries...but no guarantee on that either. I got this story twice today!

No consistent story no matter where you go. What a joke.
 
Just got shipping confirmation from Panny Direct & UPS about 3 hours ago.
Tracking info received and my order status page has finally been updated.
I paid for 2nd day air, so i should have it by Saturday if Im lucky...
 
Mine arrived.

Just to recap I am based in NYC, ordered June 5 from Panny direct.
They forgot to email me that my order was processed.
I found out by chance when I called Sara (Panny rep) the other day.
She said cam was shipped on 17th
Arrived today Friday 19th
 
My GH1 arrived at VISTEK Toronto today and will be sent out to me by monday. Thanks to Fred Konkin at VIstek and of course Doug Borbath and the team at Panasonic Canada.

I'm happy for you Brian. I thought you had already left town. I got mine 2 days ago. Turns out I didn't need to push back my shoot after all but this gives me plenty of time to get to know the camera before 1st day.
 
Hi, I have received my GH1 14-140mm yesterday at Nantes, France, available in Camara shop with accessories (soft bag, microphone, SD card) for under the actual price of 1490 Euros you can find everywhere :)

GH1 finally in Singapore

The GH1 is finally available in Singapore!
MSRP is SGD 2499 (incl. GST); without asking I got it for 10% less plus an 8GB Kingston Class4 SD card, a camera bag (albeit pretty lousy) and an MP3 player. I also bought a second battery for SGD 169 (MSRP SGD 199; original Panasonic).
The shop only had the black model, I forgot to ask how many they got (selfish, I know...)

Since begin of May I regularly checked in the shops. Apparently the GH1 was launched in Singapore on Thursday 25th. This afternoon I checked with the shop but it was not there yet. I gave them my phone number to call me when it arrives -- and they called me an hour later!

Apparently two other guys have "preordered" with that particular shop too.

I ordered my GH1 from Amazon May 7th and today, June 27, they told me AUGUST 27Th. What is up with Panasonic? geeze.......
