Read this from the first page:

0F may work

anything lower than 0F will work and all 9X will work.

I think that it would be tricky. If you were here in Tokyo, I could tell you / send you a map, but if you get them to deliver new(e.g. pricejapan.com), you don't know if the serial number will be before Jun 2010.
 
Anyone in the UK know where to get a GF1 that can be hacked?

I've been calling about and seems the brand new ones are all sealed with no way of knowing - thou prob too modern to be hacked.

There's 2nd hand ones but that's always a pain/risk.

(Oh and the EVF can be used whilst recording video yeah? As if so that's be cool)

The serial number is on the outside of the box.

I bought a GF1 a couple of weeks back, and checked the box before buying. (in Tokyo)
 
Ah I thought the serial ranges on the 1st page were for the GH1 not the GF1, and so I needed to check the firmware for the GF1?

I found two v1.0 cameras, but only second hand and not exactly cheap!

The last release firmware update for both GH1 and GF1 was May 2010. The unhackable firmware for both was released in June 2010 as I understand it. I suppose this needs some checking.

My GF1 is April 2010 (FV0Dxxxxxx) and is Ver. 1.1

What sort of price is "not cheap" for a 2nd hand GF1?

The letter "S" is the 19th of the alphabet! The year has only 12 months... :cheesy:

4th letter "S" means September. There is a note in printed Russian manual which says: " Примечание: Сентябрь месяц может указываться как "S" вместо "I" Translation "Note: September may be marked as "S" instead of "I"

Hi there.

On page 15 someone is asking if the XT serial range is good to go or not? No definitive response has been given.

I just contacted a possible supplier and got a few serial numbers from the nice guy.

XT9SD00XXXX (champagne color)
XT0HD00XXXX (black)
XT0ADXXXXXX (black)
XT0GDXXXXXX (not so sure about the last one, due to bad handwriting of my own, could also be XT09DXXXXXX, but i think it's a 'G') (black)

Any news on these range of serials, good to go or not?
