GH1 and Crop Factor

I've got no problem with re labelling the focus marks on the lenses. My ACs often do that anyway.

How does the compromised collimation cause problems?

Unrelated but the phrase you are meaning to use is "all intents and purposes," it is a common misconception that the phrase is "for all intensive purposes." Of course, both are grammatically correct so I suppose it's a pity that you can't say "for all intensive purposes," even if that's what you actually mean because somebody like me will try to correct you :)

I suppose the pity is that you try and correct people even though the vast majority of users that read the post completely understood the meaning of what I was saying, regardless if I was using the traditional phrase or it's contemporary derivative : )

This is one of my favorite misspoken phrases. I keep waiting for a bandage or salve company to put "use this product for all intensive purposes" on the box. Surely there must be one sly copywriter somewhere who can get this one past the radar.

If you're going to remark all your lenses, then... well, that'd overcome much/most of the issues. I guess a zoom would be the only other thing to be compromised by improper collimation; you couldn't hold focus through a zoom on a mount that's not properly shimmed.

I see. Although I really like the discipline of primes, I certainly want a zoom lens for versatility.

Which mount would you recommend is the best, after the HR and DENZ product (I obviously don't want to spend too much - more than $500 - before tax and S/H)?

The only one I've used is the Ciecio7. I don't have any experience with any of the others. I believe Abel carries both the HotRod and the MFT, so perhaps Mitch Gross could weigh in with his perspective on those two?

Thanks Barry.

I'm picking up my GH13 tomorrow, so I have some time to research and decide which PL mount to invest in.

I will be using Nikons on the body for now. I have Series E Lenses already. Which Nikon F to M4/3 might you recommend? The prices on eBay seem low, which is good. Is there another thread floating around that discusses the Nikon F to M4/3 already?

I've had a few; I think a rainbowimaging and a fotodiox (which broke) so I quit fooling around and got the Voigtlander. It's a lot more expensive, but it seems to be much higher quality than the others. I've heard that the Metabones is half the price and may even be the same product as the voigtlander, I don't know, I've never seen a metabones.

Since I use a bunch of different makes/models of lenses and different adapters, I just use medical tape and a pen to mark my focus points these days.

We have the Zeiss Cooke Arri PL - M4/3 E-P1 E-P2 G1/GH1/GF1 adapter in stock and I have someone who is going to give me a report on how it worked for them this week.
