getting your FS700 thread

Just got mine, hooked up my 5.6 tvlogic to sdi and I get just craziness going on and no picture at 240fps but it's fine at 24fps.
Anyone experiencing this?

Pre-ordered mine a number of weeks ago from Abelcine. Now I'm hoping it will be a few more weeks. I'm evacuated from my home due to the Waldo Canyon fire, so not sure what would happen to a package in transit. Also a new cam is not longer one of the highest priorities in my mind.

It would be great if people could post which version they're starting to receive (like Ritscher did) - with our without the kit lens.

Supposedly they're shipping in Canada already - but no word on mine. Strange, since I was the very first to order from Henry's (a large dealer). It could be due to the fact that I ordered the body only, and kits with lens are shipping first...

Was this a camera problem, a monitor problem, or what? I'm about to buy a TV Logic monitor.

The SLO mo signal buffers and then processes before flowing to output, does your observation mean that this long iinterval has no monitor signal?

Remember that 240 fps closes the shutter way down so it may look like there is nothing indoors...
85 degree shutter was as far as it would open. (180 would be 1/480th of a second so that's somewhere around 1/900th of a second, right? Probably 1000th I didn't check in time indications, just degrees)

to RECORD any speed over 60fps to EXTERNAL recorder you need to done in internally first and then push PLAY button while keep your external recorder in RECORD mode! probably the same with external monitor signal from sdi ... :)

I've got my FS-700UK kit shipped from B&H.. so I hope to get it next week...

I was told by the guys at Abel that I need to change the sdi out put to 1080i from 1080p, haven't had a chance to try yet.

That's incorrect. Folks who had chance to play with the camera have confimed that there a feed out of sdi while the camera writes the buffer. I'm still waiting on some one to confirm this with the production model.

Hi, I am still waiting my camera. But i got a important question. Does anybody used the camera with the Sony´s A Mount Adapter La-Ea2 yet? If yes is the Buttom of the Camera and the Buttom of the Adapter totally LEVEL???

I am working on a waterhousing and this Information would mean a lot to me. Cant find any info online...

Thanks Andre

Abel has my camera, they called me yesterday! Getting it shipped out to the location i'm shooting at next week. We're doing a multi-cam FS700 shoot for about 6 days, using 6-8 FS700s for the shoot. I'll report back with our experience with them. Should be fun!

Recieved my FS700 yesterday from Nora at Abel.

Only had last night to putz around with it. Shot some stuff at night around my neighborhood. INCLUDED link to RAWS.

I live in SF and am open to any tests/footage you want to see.

I used your 00027.MTS for trying out Neat Video. Not to make it grain free but to bring the noise down to FS100 levels at the same ISO (1250).
http://www.steinhardtverlag.de/Felix/00027.MTS (your "raw" file)
http://www.steinhardtverlag.de/Felix/neat.mp4

Neat Video was set to 25 % luma and 35 % chroma noise reduction and 10% sharpening.
Conclusion: Works very well but needs a lot of extra time to render.
The mp4 is encoded in x264 @ 30 mbit/s bluray compliant. Looks 99% just like a 175 mbit DNxHD.
