getting your FS700 thread

On July 3rd I make my trip to Boston ... to get this Pandora-box :cheesy:

...Distance between rods and the lens getting bigger... wich is good as I don't need to take off Monitor's Arm to change the battery... :)

..and .. someonte says here, that top Handle in FS-700 not in right position, and camera not balanced if you have small lens at front ..
So.. I just took the handle from my Cage and screw it on top of FS-700 handle:

.... Maybe I will place some footage later.. but at first I'd like to make all settings right way .... at first I make all autofocusing function and expanded focus avalable without going to menu... and now they work by pressing the buttons :)
 
To the people that are already getting the FS700 from B&H, how early did you pre-order? I was only able to get my pre-order in at the very beginning of July, so I have no idea what type of wait I'm looking at before it gets sent to me.

..more than a month ago .. and I've got it at July 3rd ...

grrr... I pre-ordered body only from B&H on June 11. they claim it's still back ordered and shipping in order of date placed. wt*?
 
Just picked up my Body from Samy's here in Los Angeles. Ordered about 2 weeks ago. So Happy.

Usually I buy from B&H to save on Tax, but thanks to this DVXuser, I found out that since I work in T.V., I qualify for the Production tax which cut the CA. sales tax from 10% to 3.5%. Huge savings. Still a bit more than 0% tax, but I figure on an $8000 camera it's nice to have the dealer near by in case the camera breaks. Also, Samy's does a 3 year breakage and warranty extension for $239. Pretty cheap for peace of mind.

All in all, I was happy with my transaction. Felt kind of strange to buy from a brick and mortar store, as I have been internet only for a long time.

Can't wait to use it.
 
So it sounds like B&H might be all up in the air on when things will go out. I went ahead and paid for the camera in full, so I'm stuck with them until it ships. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that nobody there ever knows anything on when more product is coming in or going out. Every time I ask anything I get a different vague answer. Don't mind me, I'm just venting my frustration because I'm eager to start filming with it :)
 
I feel you Scarytown. I initially had a Pre-Order with B&H, but every time I called them, nobody seemed to really know anything about when the camera was coming in. I think it's because they are so big. On the flip side, Samy's was really on the ball and kept me posted regularly. But they are much smaller and this was their Pro Video division, so a lot less to deal with since they only deal with video.

But for being a big company B&H is excellent for most orders. I've never really had a problem with them.
 
Trying to make it look good with its cheap rig. Will get something better when money comes...

I preordered with ZGC on June 12 and am the first on their list. They seem to think mine should ship out in the next day or two, and they offered free Saturday delivery, so it should be here in time for a shoot I am doing with it on Monday!
 
just got my delivery confirmation from B&H today (body only, ordered 6/11.) rep on the phone said they just got a batch in from Sony yesterday and are working their way through the back orders.

Yeah looks like CineCity aks, about as cheap as it gets :p

On another note, just got an email from fedex, my FS700 that I preordered June12 from ZGC shipped today and is arriving tomorrow! When I talked to them it didnt sound like many people had preordered, but I could be wrong.
