I've edited a few small films onto dvds and the quality seems to decrease significantly (besides the fact that it isn't HD...thats expected). Some older films I did with an HVX seemed to translate on both HDTVs and tube TV's a lot better......I have a feeling I could be getting better quality dvds made from the footage that I have shot...(even SD footage doesn't end up quite as good as it could be when I burn dvds)..just seeing if anyone can guide me to a better way of exporting to disc
In FCP I edit my files as XDCAM EX 1080P 24, and then send to compressor. In compressor I pretty much just use the preset "DVD Best quality 90 MIN" (mpeg-2 6.2 mbps 2-pass)...and then from that file and the Dolby file I write to disc in dvd studio pro. Would it change anything if I worked in Pro Res or would this just be bad compression?
Thanks
