Getting more out your indiSLIDER

I've been meaning to post this up for awhile now, but just got the pics today. I picked up my indiSLIDER awhile back, and I've been reasonably happy with the results for the price. If you guys are anything like me, you probably have a plethora of spare parts and under-used gear around.

I had some extra Gorillapods around and came up with an idea. With some reconfiguring, they made excellent positionable feet for the slider. I also had one of JOBY's ballheads, which incidentally fit the carriage's quick release block almost perfectly. These two simple upgrades, made with spare gear, made the slider way more useful.

Check out the pics -- Just hoping this inspires someone to get creative:

Very cool! How did you get the Gorillapods so short? I've never seen any that short, so I'm guessing you did some cutting on them?

That's also great to know about the ballhead. I'm trying to get Tim to replace my "puck", because the tripod screw quickly sank into the plastic and I can't figure out a way to pull it back out. This would be a great alternative. Does the screw on the Indislider tighten it fully? Also does the ballhead get your cam high enough to do push in and out moves without seeing the slider?

Again, very nice mod!

I popped the gorilla pods apart and put them back together w/o most of the leg sections.

The ballhead doesn't add a ton of height, but enough to be a little helpful.

I forgot to mention what i did with the OEM half screw in the puck. I wasn't nearly as solid as it should have been, so I replaced it with a REAL allen key 1/4 20 bolt. I have no idea why this wasn't done in the first place:
