get camera?

I think there is a pecking order or it is based on who ordered first. I know of one place that even today still have 7 cameras in stock. They have had them for a month now, they said they placed a really big order early on and received quite a bit when the first big release came.

Another place I have ordered from still hasn't sent me a camera and I put down a deposit in November.
 
I ordered from Specc-Comm mid January. ($500 non-refundable deposit.) No camera yet and I am dying everytime I hear of someone ordering Monday and getting a camera Friday. (For example see "When can I buy one" thread.)

Andrew Hoffman at Spec-Comm has been very nice and is always there to answer questions. He is very knowledgable and I never get the impression he's in a hurry to get me off the phone. I also get the impression that Panasonic is not giving him a lot to work with.

I know they have delivered cameras but I don't know how many. I am hoping for one to come in with my name on by mid-March but I feel like a character in a movie. (I think it was the cowardly lion) "i do believe, I do I do I do I do......"

They have a pretty good deal price wise, $5399 for the camera, $6539 for the starter package, the camera and 2 - 4 Gb P2 cards (2% off any order with payment in full by certified check.) They also throw in an extra 6000mAh battery for the camera (their brand). Plus 10% off their best price for the Cineporter which I think they manufacture.

We have filled all of October's and some of November's orders and this shipment that is coming next week should finish off November and start working into December.

I speak for all dealers when I say "thank you for the Patience" for anyone that has pre-ordered the HVX200. :)

I've recieved the Spec-Comm email from the President (David) stating that we have the option of having our deposits refunded should we choose to buy the camera elsewhere. With announcements of shipments from other vendors in the past couple days, can we get any updates from Spec-Comm to persuade us to (still) wait it out?

Got mine today while I was at the Apple/Panasonic seminar in L.A. No P2 cards so I just fired it up without them. Sitting here in my crappy apartment I lit a couple of 60 watt bulbs and just began to point while looking through the viewfinder. (Set for 720/24P, Cine D} I sat lazily on my sofa and pointed at some really under-lit CD's on a shelf across the room. WIth the focus assist I easily adjusted the manual ring till I could read the labels on the sides of the CD's ...NICE AND SHARP....QUICKLY !!! (outta the box 4 minutes) Was there some noise in the blacks and browns? Well sure. Guess what, though, if I crank up a few more lights..it practically goes away. And the color? WOW ! Rich and tasty ! And all this just in the viewfinder. Sme day I plan to hook it up to a monitor...

Just my opinion in a very quick non technical way.

anyway i sent spec-comm couple of emails and no response yet.

I ordered about 2-1/2 weeks ago from Roscor in Michigan. P2's should be here by early next week I think. Why am I online with you all and not looking loningly into the CCD block of the HVX. Dunno !
