Generic Footage Directly From Camera

I produce and shoot videos professionally and have been thinking about picking a 5d up for some time. Does anyone have any footage straight out of the camera that they could send me that I could check out on my editing system? I would prefer some generic un-lit footage where there is a high dynamic range.

I can't speak for every editing platform out there, but for AE and FCP on the Mac, I'm not editing straight off the card - I'm first converting to prores using MPEG Streamclip or 5DtoRGB. If your system can handle 1080p editing, there's really nothing special about Canon footage, and there's a wealth of info here and on google regarding specific workflows. The difference with Canon footage is more in the look, not in how you edit - other than the need to transcode for many uses.

I've seen no degradation going to various ProRes flavors; I generally do some rough trims and batch process the raw footage. It adds some time, but heck, my HMC150 footage gets transcoded as well... if you like the look and the overall methodology of DSLR is Ok with you (interchangeable lenses, big-ass sensor on the 5D, the need for ND and a loupe, no AF, ability to use Nikon, Pentax, etc. glass, all the stuff that gets talked about here) I'd say go for it.

MB72378: You've run into the same problem I frequently do. If you want responses here you have to post a video, or make up a sensational headline or, if you want 50 responses in an hour, ask what kind of craptronic mic you can put on top of your DSLR (so you don't have to hire a sound guy). Lately, I've been having a bit of luck with making up sensational headlines.

Michael...I agree and have no concerns with the editing. What I am wanting is some untouched (No CC) footage to really nitpick the quality. The only 5d footage I can find are vids on youtube and vimeo...and lets face it....anything looks good on youtube and vimeo. Im wanting to see some 5d footage thats as raw as possible to compare it with some footage from other cams Im looking into.
