I'm a film student and am currently debating whether or not to sell my GL2 and pick up an XH A1. I've been doing some work with various HDV and HDCam cameras in a high definition class lately. Unfortunately we do not have an XH A1 on hand (we're using HVX200, XL H1, V1U, A1U, and F900 cinealta).
I understand the XH A1 is supposed to be a compact version of the XL H1, but I want to know how literally the interface translates.
When zooming, how does the A1 display focal length? Is it a bar like the GL2, XL2, etc, or is it the "Zx" (IE Z0, Z25, etc.) like on the XL H1?
Also, when manually focusing, does the A1 display the focusing distance like the H1?
That's all I can think of for now. I'm sure I'll be posting a few other questions later tonight. Thanks in advance!
