Gamers

I bought a PS3 and ONLY play COD4.... The game freakin rocks.... coffee_1 is my screen name so if anyone wants to put in some work in COD4, send me a friend request.

Let's do it, I'll be on tonight.

I'll be on tonight too dude. We should def hook up. I usually play private matches with a bunch of guys (some REALLY good and some, not so much) and have a blast all night laughing and such. Shoot me a friend request if I haven't already by that time.

I like Verbinsky, and he did a pretty good trilogy out of a Disney ride. That couldn'y have been an easy task, but look at how huge that became.

Not really the same thing. There isn't that much to the Disney ride, so you can do pretty much anything. But BioShock is a fully-realized universe vast in scale. I'm skeptical that it can be squeezed into two hours and give it the treatment it deserves.

Some things just aren't meant to be movies. And that's OK.

And iit'll be a huge greenscreened CGI-fest.

Cool, I'll do that this evening... PM me if you get this.

Max Payne was a video game gone movie, and it looks interesting. But I don't agree that a good whatever can't be made into a good movie. They did Doom a few years back, and it was awful when compared to the game, or anything else for that matter. But that is just par for the course, bad writers and Directors can ruin anything. On the other side of that coin, good Writers and Directors can make almost anything work out. I'd like to see Wolfenstein done into a movie.

I didn't say a good X couldn't ever be made into a good movie. I'm just saying that some good Xes can't be translated well into movies.

It would be like trying to cram Lord of the Rings into one film instead of three three-plus-hour epics. I think we can all agree that a single film, no matter who did it, never could have done it justice. Some say it didn't as it was.

I never want to see a film version of Stranger in a Strange Land. It could not be done and still retain what made that book a masterpiece.

I think BioShock is one of those things. It's just too big. There's just too much.

But I never mind if I'm ultimately wrong about this kind of thing. :)

Now you're comparing the LOTR's novels to Bioshock!? Don't go crazy! :D

Bioshock could be a good movie, depending on who is behind the wheel. :)

The game is deep but it's not that deep.

Mike

No, it's not LOTR -- just giving an example of what I mean.
I know, I just think your example was stretching things a bit. It was still a comparison. Maybe... Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) would be a better comparison?

Anyway, my opinion is that it can be done. If in the right hands.

Sweet, I'll download the demo tonight.

I'll see if I can grab my brothers copy of COD:4, been meaning to do so for some time. I've played quite a bit of it with him, but he just kicks my ass all the time.

Anyone try the StarWars Force Unleashed game? Ive played the demo a few times and it's pretty cool, not sure if I want to buy it though.
