CoD4 rocks hard.

If you want an FPS with a cinematic flair, an Art Deco aesthetic, a noir feel, a sci-fi premise, tons of tongue-in-cheek humor, and a little puzzle-solving, all with an interesting story that's slowly revealed, get BioShock. Don't hesitate.

COD4 is bad ass. My son loves it.

My All Time Fav Games in order:

1. Forgotten Hope (A Battlefield 1942 Mod)
2. Desert Combat ((A Battlefield 1942 Mod)
3. Battlefield 1942
4. Battlefield 2
5. Forgotten Hope 2 (A BF 2 Mod)
6. Call of Duty 3
7. Resident Evil - The Directors Cut
8. Call of Duty 4
9. Call of Duty
10. Call of Duty 2

Also looking very forward to LEFT FOR DEAD

it should be interesting to see if treyarch can raise the bar that infinity ward set with call of duty 4.

COD: World at War looks good. Hopefully better than COD 3. COD: Modern Warfare was easily one of the best games I've ever played. As far as I've heard, COD: World at War is using the same game engine as Modern Warfare. I like that they are finally doing the Pacific Theater. (Which reminds me, where the hell is the Band of Brothers sequel that is supposed to take place in the Pacific?)

Myself though, I'm pretty excited about GEARS OF WAR 2 and RESISTANCE 2. LEFT 4 DEAD looks to be a shooter with some new twists. And who doesn't love blasting zombies?

How about FALLOUT 3? Anyone excited for this one? By the looks of my avatar I sure am. I'm getting the vibe of an RPG/FPS hybrid. If you haven't checked it out yet, then take a look at the links below.

Hey ladies, check out this thread and add your PS3 username. I play COD4, absolutely hooked on it. Will probably get Bioshock too. Unfortunately there's not too many games I'm looking forward to but I'm anxiously awaiting Res Evil 5 and Resistance 2 should be alright (I have Resistance 1 but haven't even put it in the PS3 yet, damn COD4!).

I second that recommendation. Bioshock is far and away the best FPS I've ever played. Possibly proof that games can be "Art." Even Ebert might agree with that. :)

Ha ha capt quirk, you just liked giving money to strippers.

I've playe battlefield 2 and COD 1 and I loved those but I'm still a fan of Counter-strike 1.6 I just liked the speed of it and smaller maps for constant action.

I know its not a 1st person shooter but im looking forward to the game prototype.

I really dug Gears of War and am looking forward to the sequel. Didn't care for Halo 3, though. Don't know what the big deal is. Didn't seem to have much personality. Bioshock is genius. A thing of beauty.

I'm huge fans of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars or Unreal Tournament 2004. Great games, plus they have native versions for GNU/Linux. Can't wait until they finish porting Unreal III...

Gears of War got me back into gaming... I took quite a long hiatus since I finished playing my favorite FPS of all time... GOLDENEYE for the N64. Yeah, I said it.

Ok maybe I played the GTAs a little on my PS2... but honestly, I didn't game much at all!! Damn career got in the way...

GoW, Call of Duty, Bioshock

Halo 3 :thumbdown

yea none of the halo's lived up to the 1st halo. I still have more fun playing halo 1 than any of the others.

What? No TF2 love on DVXuser?

Come on guys, Team Fortress 2 is great! Even though Portal won game of the year, you should really be playing TF2!

I haven't tried TF2 yet. I'm still working on Half-life 2 + episodes 1 and 2. The Orange Box is a great deal though.

As for Halo 3, I thought that they recaptured a lot of the fun of the 1st one. I'd rank the first and third about equal. The problem is that Gears and COD are newer and more innovative presently. Hopefully Bungie or whoever else gets to develop a Halo game, will come up with some new ideas to add to what they already have.

Anyone here plan on getting Dead Space? I picked up a copy today. While not specifically a shooter, it does have some shooting in it. I'd call it a survival horror - shooter.
