That's a cool set up, pretty expensive but looks like its doing the job well. I've been shooting handheld with gyros for a while and then adding warp stabilizer in post to get similar effects and shots (I have a ks-4) but its only for mos shots because of the noise it makes- would love to try this out with my rollerblades on : )
I don't know, I could do that whole thing with my new stabilizer design and a Sony Action Cam or GoPro. It would even have the grainy washed out look perfectly
Seriously, though that thing is pretty amazing. I know some guys that have been doing the exact same thing mounted on blimps for a number of years now. Those systems are upwards of $30k though. They do all the aerial work for the Travis Pastrana Nitro Circus movies.
To bring something like that down to a hand held rig is pretty cool.
Cheers,
Pete
Ryan- Ha! You nailed it- I gotta try this thing out with skates ASAP.
As long as you only sacrifice a 5D it's all good.
If it's noisy that rules it out for me, I loath ADR.
I agree. There are already noisy gyros available for less.
I'll try to be 2nd, im not that cutting edge. For real though, this thing has to be loud right with all the servos? Probably not coincidence all the videos I've seen have no live audio track?
