FW remote record and p2 record at the sametime?

I am working on a project where we will be strapping our hvx to the wings of planes. I would like to use my mbp as a monitor for the pilot via the fw 1394 connection and have the video signal recorded both locally to the p2 cards as well as remotely to the mbp hard drive. is this possible or is it only possible to record to one or the other?

Any thoughts and advice appreciated.

I was hoping to make it happen via the menu system and final cut. 3rd party software scares me, but thanks for the suggestion. Is it a possibilty with just the hvx+fcp?

Set cam to both

And try with FCP in everything but p2 Native

Test it.

But Scopebox works just fine.

As long as the HVX is not set to native mode, it always streams video out the FW port - whether recording to P2 or not. So your plan should work fine!

Actually this sounds like it will be a fun gig. Is the plane doing acrobatics?
