Stiller in the washroom and Alec Baldwin is in there getting way to 'touchy feely' and making all kinds of 'noises' while talking to him.

Classic bathroom humor; but everytime I see that scene I laugh my arse off.[/quote]

John, don't know if anyone told you, but that is Along Came Polly wasn't it?

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

Damn! I saw Anchorman tonight and think it absolutely sucked. Not to say I didn't chuckle - but man... characters were half-baked, story was crap and the writing was less than first-draft quality.

I'm a big Ferrell fan too. It's like one of those SNL skits that just never works, but it goes on for 90 instead of the usual 4 excrutiating minutes.

Not that the writing should be congruous in a comedy - non-sequiter worked well for Monty Python - but the newsteam battle in the parking lot? Are you kidding?

The end credit outtakes were funnier than any single line in the movie itself. Yikes. Now I have to watch the Ace Ventura rhino birthing scene before I go to bed to get myself into a better place.

???

90 percent sure that was Along Came Polly, the one funny moment in what I remember as an otherwise unfunny comedy. :(

IMHO Ben Stiller either knocks em out of the park or strikes out...bad. Batting average .500

His old show on MTV was fricking hilarious! It's a crime it got cancelled so quick.

Did anybody see "Bean", well the little lady and I went and I thought I was going to have to remove her from the theater when he is in the bathroom trying to dry himself off with the hand-drier.

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

Indiana Jones - when the guy comes after him with the sword (all fancy and stuff) and Indy just pulls out the gun and shoots him. I still fall over during that scene!

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of these.

"I think we're going to be fine, they've got a thin candy shell"
"I think your brain has a thick candy shell."
"Well, your brain...is the one with the...shell on it."
"Did you say something?"
"Shut up, Richard."

Dazed and Confused
"Any ya'll boys got any weed?"
"Uh...no."
"Well it'd be a lot cooler if your did."

Big Libowski

Walter Sobchak: "You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me."
The Dude: "Yeah, but Walter..."
Walter Sobchak: "Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish."

and even funnier:

The Dude: "Walter, what is the point? Look, we all know who is at fault here, what the **** are you talking about?"
Walter Sobchak: "Huh? No, what the **** are you... I'm not... We're talking about unchecked aggression here, dude."
Donny: "What the **** is he talking about?"
The Dude: "My rug."
Walter Sobchak: "Forget it, Donny, you're out of your element!"
The Dude: "Walter, the chinaman who peed on my rug, I can't go give him a bill, so what the **** are you talking about?"
Walter Sobchak: "What the **** are you talking about? The chinaman is not the issue here, dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, dude. Across this line, you DO NOT...Also, dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

and:

The Stranger: "Do you have to use so many cuss words?"
The Dude: "What the **** you talking about?"
The Stranger: "Have it your way, Dude...have it your way."

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

From Once Upon A Time in The West:

Three gunslingers greet Charles Bronson at the train stop. They're going to kill him. Their three horses are in the background.

Charles Bronson: "You bring a horse for me?"
The head gunslinger: "[chuckling] Looks like were shy one horse."
Charles Bronson "[shaking his head] You brought two too many."

Blam! Blam! Blam! Down go the three of 'em.

They're not comedy funny, but these lines were so cool, I laughed my ass off.

Five funny moments that had me rolling on the sticky popcorn laden floor.

The Aids song.
The Team America song (F*ck Yeah!)
"Matt Damon!"
When they get attack by fericious cats ;)
And of course the puppets having sex. ;D

Very simple but effective humor.

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

The hardest I probably ever laughed at a movie was in Team America when Gary was puking his guts out for what seemed to be 3 straight minutes.

All time favorite line (as seen in my new sig):

Hi there, this is Mike Donnelly. I work over here at the recreational center. To be honest with you I pretty much run the place ha, ha, ha. Is this ah Pat Gyles? Good, Good. Hey, hope everything's going great in your fine town of er Avery? Edward! Ha, ha, ha. Say, the reason I'm calling is I wanted to tell you a little bit about the candidacy of Al Donnelly. Al Donnelly's a guy with a dream. His dream is to become governor of this great state of Washington. Hell, every guy's got his dream, am I right? Between you, me and the wall here, I had a doozy myself last night. Ha ha, ha, ha. Get this: A corn-fed harvest mouse, a hooker, a nun, a Flemish peasant woman, whips, chains, whistles yo-yo's, a circus midget. My grandmother riding by on a bicycle giving me the finger, and a duck! Now, I don't know ha, ha, ha. Are you crying? Oh my lord. I am sorry honey, please don't ! Could you get your daddy on the phone. No, don't hang up please I...

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

Haha, Black Sheep is great. Dumb & Dumber is the funniest movie ever, IMO. I am in tears all the time with it, and I don't laugh that easily. Like the gun bit at the end, I cried so much in that. And just all of it, it's always hilarious. Yet my eyes always water, from being upset, in the scene were "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies plays where Lloyd says "I forgot
you never make a mistake." and the 'mistake line is half-cried.

That's why I think that movie is so great, because you feel for the characters as well as it being ****ing hilarious. Unlike that god-awful sequel, I couldn't even watch it, they DESTROYED it. One of the worst movies ever, Dumb & Dumberer

But also, Flying High (Airplane), Otto the Autopilot, the drinking problem, I can't remember any others.

Re: Funniest movie lines or scenes

In Major Payne when Damon Wayans is telling that little kid his version of "The Little Engine That Could". My god. I was bent over holding my stomach doing the quiet laughs. You know, your laughing so hard and nothing is comming out and you feel like your going to pass out? Yeah that was me.

In Clerks Randal telling Dante about how his cousin died trying to... well, you know.
