Fun...

I want to personally thank all of you for helping to make this project one of the most fun things I have been a part of since I can remember. The RED project was "impossible", as I remember someone saying. The community that has been developing since the announcement is amazing. I really appreciate the moral support and enthusiasm that has been shown here on DVXuser.com. It really motivates us to deliver something great.
....

Thanks.

Jim

THE FEELING IS MUTUAL. Thanks!

For me personally the best part has been Red's accessibility. In the 21st century, when everyone seems to be all about secrecy and a lack of moral fibre, Red Team has displayed the qualities that show why open societies will always triumph over closed ones.

With thousands of potential users feeding back reams of valuable information to the team, they have turned a small garage operation into a powerhouse development company with some of the brightest and most non-conformist minds in the business assisting them. Brilliant! Simply brilliant.

To all of you at Red, thankyou for taking our suggestions and feedback on board. It has given all of us filmmakers a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the actual development of a dream camera, something I will ALWAYS cherish as I go through my filmmaking career. Red One will be the camera that takes me through to the other side and for that you will have my eternal thanks.

Now go forth and kick much arse!! :D

It's been just as much fun for me reading about the camera from the start and now viewing material. Just don't forget about the DVinfo forums.

I wish I had some suggestions and feedback to give, but this will be my first camera. I used to brainstorm with a buddy of mine back in the day (5+ years ago) about our dream camera setup. I would say: Why can't they make a DSLR go 24fps or higher? How about no tape... Only hard drives and solid-state memory? Since then I've been waiting and hoping for something even remotely close to come along. And now it is materializing before our very eyes. In fact this is even better then we could even imagine. Thanks for including all of us in this process. Having a camera and lens on reservation, I get very excited with every new development.

I was just remembering some of our other ideas we had. Batteries and storage in a backpack. we were also thinking about having an EVF (viewfinder) built into sunglasses. Jim might like that crazy idea.

thanks jim for all your hardwork in this project. I probably wont be able to afford this camera- until 3-4 years down the line but by then it should be in full sail so im glad i can look forward to that.

Jim, I think what you are doing is much bigger than RED. You dared to do what was thought to be "impossible" and you WILL change the world of video forever. Other companies will catch up, but without RED how long would it have taken to get where we will be in months? YEARS I SAY! YEARS! Give Jim some credit because our battle may be over when RED is released, but his will continue forever as competitors catch up (good for us, bad for RED)
LONG LIVE RED!

I'm really glad you acheived this! Although....I think a camera that can capture the 4th dimension of reality might wow the audience a bit more ( :
