Fully manual alternative to Tamron 17-50 and Sigma 17-70?

I'm looking for a zoom lens in the 15-60 (anything approximately) that is FULLY manual.

Is there such a lens?

On other threads I've seen people saying that the only options of those lenses would be with Nikon mount adapters that control exposure.

Would a full manual lens be a better solution?

Would the exposure control via the adapter be a problem of any sorts possibly?

I tried researching primes and what not, but a range of 17-50 at a constant 2.8 is quite sweet for the GH1. You'll have a modest wide-angle but it's a nice trade-off.

Thoughts and/or recommendations are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked into Olympus 4/3 zooms? Some of them are quite fast. I know you posted about "fully" manual alternatives, but you can achieve the same effect with aperture set from the camera itself.

Guys thanks for the recommendations but... Ouch!

I should've specified price point, lol.

But yeah, adjusting from the camera would do the same.

Since I'm just a poor man seems like I'll go for the Nikon Adapter with Aperture Control > Tamron 17-50 route.

Any word on the Novoflex adapter? Is it better than the Ebay cheap ones? Not in the same league?

Thanks a lot.

Yeah, 17-50s or anything near that didn't really exist in the full-manual days, the closest you'll find are some 28-70/28-80mm f/2.8 zooms and even those are fairly rare. There was a very good Vivitar Series I lens like that... a 28-90 I believe...and I believe Tokina had one too. 28mm isn't too wide on a GH1 though.

Otherwise, the Olympus f/2 zooms are sweet!

I haven't tried the Novoflex, but the Jinfinance (eBay dealer) adapter is working great so far. I've only had it for a couple months, so I can't attest to its long-life durability. I also find the 17-50 lens rarely leaves my camera. I wish Panasonic would make a micro 4/3 counterpart to this lens....and that it doesn't cost 2 arms, a leg, and a kidney!

I use it with panny's adapter.

Autofocus works perfectly in photomode, and will work as a single shot autofocus in video. Not continuous. I learned to work with that and it's actually pretty nice to use.
