GH1 Full Blown Trailer finally complete - TAKE A PEEK!

Lighting was tough with the stock lens, but I also used some fast lenses and it made a big difference.

Looks great. Please, do tell. Which other lenses, as per your reference, did you use?

Was the GH1 hacked?

Thanks Ripper70,

The other lenses I used were a 50mm Canon f/1.4 (used) and a Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7. The 50mm really gave it a great film look! I used it extensively, especially for dark scenes.

Unfortunately, the camera was not hacked which made it very hard to film. By the time I discovered the hack, more than half the movie was filmed.

Best of luck with the movie, it looks really great!

How did the GH1 deal with low light shots? Did you have any serious FPN problems?

BTW, one thing I would do right away is to hire someone to do a good looking web page, cause the one you have is ...well... quite hideous :)

Anyway, congratulations for finishing it and making it look that nice!

Congrats for doing this project. What amazes me is the GH1 was unhacked? Man, that must be a very special GH1 you have. If you'd used mine what you would have is a load of banded green grime. Perhaps there is a sample variation :)

My trick was to light in pools. Instead of trying to up the lighting in the entire scene (i.e. flat, adequate lighting), I chose specific areas and made sure they were perfectly illuminated. The FPN then seemed to disappear.

Regarding the website, I couldn't agree with you more. I've been so busy on the project that I just made up a quick "template" based site. Know any good web designers?

Shots look very good. I'm looking forward to watching this.
My GH1 had horrendous FPN. I always wish I would have sold it, but it was so darn useful. Glad FPN wasn't too bad of a problem.

That always happened to me if I used medium lighting. Instead, I would slightly overlight and knock it down in post.

Hi everyone,

I am a bit confused as to why I'm getting so little feedback from the awesome people on DVX. I have been a member for years and have always valued the professional input from all of you. But, now that I'm almost finished, not too many people even seem interested. Was it something I said?

What kind of feedback were you looking for? If artistic, you are unlikely to get it (too many people got burned offering any), as dvxuser is over for that, as far as I can see (my opinion). If you're looking for technical feedback, you'll probably have more luck if you asked specific questions about areas you are interested in. FWIW, generally it looked really well lit, to me. Good luck!

Thanks for the input. I always liked the fact that members helped each other out by giving BOTH their professional and personal feedback. It helped me very much, along the way.

After all, personal opinion is what general viewers keep to themselves (if they don't like something). I'd rather here it from fellow artists first. Then I can correct it before going mainstream.
