[TD="class: alt1, bgcolor: #F5F5FF"]I am going to sweeten the deal by offering the Fujinon follow focus gear with the Lens at a reduced price. This setup is silky smooth and works perfect. Retail for the setup is $900 with adapter cable.

Added gear to the lens:
Fujinon Cable CFC-12-990
Fujinon MCA-7 Handle and Clamp
Fujinon FMM-6B gear for Fujinon lens

Fujinon adapter cable for Libec ZC-9EX remote to fit Fujinon Broadcast lens. Offers start, stop, and zoom.

With adapter cable and follow focus you can control the lens remotely. I have used both with great success in the Helicopter and on tripod/crane.

New price for HSs18x5.5BRM-M38 with above gear is $4,500

Hi Paul,
I am interested, but don't know enough about what makes this lens standout versus the stock EX3 lens. Can you educate me a little? It's not any wider, but will go a little longer? Also, how does the servo focus work? Can that be remotely controlled then like the zoom?

thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Good questions: First I have used the EX1 and EX3 since they came out and they produce great images from the stock glass. But for me I was doing video where the clients were demanding more. Then I purchased this lens. The combination is a huge step up and my clients agreed. The image is sharper, nailing focus while run and gun is easy. You snap zoom and then nail focus and snap back and you are spot on. Takes 2 seconds and you can not even get close to doing this with the stock lens. Back Focus with the Fujinon HSs is also spot on and easy to adjust, very important. All of this saves a lot of time and gives better results. So those made me go for the upgrade. The stock lens is ok and great for the price but when you use a broadcast level lens the ergonomics are night and day.

As for the focus control gear it is manual. You screw the gear onto the threaded holes in the lens that is designed for focus gears. For the time I have owned the lens this gear stayed on the lens. Then you screw the cable into the gear and into the end of the handle. Clamp the handle onto just about anything and then you have at your finger tips a very smooth control of the focus at a twist of the handle. It really is nice to use if you need to be hands off with the camera.

Also if you are using a Nano at higher bit rates you will see the difference with the HSs.

Too bad I just sold a Wide Angle adapter that fits on the end of the lens that I used a bit. Worked well and was .8X. You can find them used, I sold it for $200 I think was the price.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks Paul,
I'll give it some thought. The focus control I was referring to is the servo focus connector on the bottom of the handgrip. Have you ever used that?

Matt

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Yes I have used the servo focus control a few times on the lens. I did not want to spend the money for the servo unit but a client has had me use that in their studio and it works great. Same client would only accept the EX3 with a broadcast lens not the stock lens.

Do you own the Libec ZC-9EX? This controls zoom and start stop. That is the adapter cable with the focus control. It is a different cable then the stock lens and expensive. With the Libec and focus control you are hands off on the lens which is great.

Send me an email or give me a call and I will make you a great deal.

Man, I would love to get this Paul, but I just bought a Losmandy dolly system and don't have the budget for it now. I might take your EX3 shoulder mount if it's still available.

Matt

HI Matt,

Understand when funds are tight. The week of 8 Oct I will be bundling the lens with my EX3 camera and bunch of excellent extras.

But for now I do have the EX3 shoulder brace with AB gold mount for battery and power the camera. The ad is on this site.
