Might just be the most accurate, and at the same time hilarious, way I've ever heard anyone describe an f4 lens...it sums it perfectly.

P.S. I'm stealing it by the way.

Topping out at 55 is kind of 'meh' too.

Personally Id take Miss f4 over Miss 55mm

The 17-120 is such a beast that I don't fancy her either!

We must admit a kit thing. We do our job with this stuff and you want to feel confident and happy when at work. We want wooden handles and lenses made of.. whatever Sony dont make lenses out of. We want stuff that goes clunk like a VCT. We want to feel confident. And we shoot better when feeling confident.

I'm going to BVE tomorrow so will have a look too. Not heard anything but great workds about the cine versions, except with the proviso that the longer zoom still breathes like a guppy at feeding time.
 
The 20-120 T 3.5 for $10K is, imho, the best quality zoom for the money out there (if it falls within your budget obv.). At about 5 pounds, the range vs. weight vs. max T stop balance is really impressive.

I can't imagine picking up the Zeiss LWZ over this lens, when both are at $10K. I suspect the profit margin on the Zeiss 21-100 isn't small. :) I think the Zeiss should be a $6,999 lens. It certainly isn't 3x better than the Fujinon 18-55mm... in my book anyway.
 
It's making me think about keeping an e mount camera. Also robust. Not heavy metal but the alloy casing will deffo withstand a knock.

If Duclos can deffo mod it to pl or ef this will be a purchase for me.

The Zeiss was really nice too and the zoom iris ramp was completely unnoticeable to the eye. But I found the Fuji even sexier.
