Ack. Leave the 3d acquisition to James Cameron. I would so hate to watch shaky, crappy, home video footage in 3d. Talk about headaches!

I have seen some 3D broadcast on a Panasonic 3D monitor and it's stunning though. Sports take on a really amazing quality, even if you have to wear the stupid glasses...
One things for sure, still film cameras are dead as dillinger and the old guard is scrambling to be firmly place in the new digital world. I bet in 5 years you won't be able to process any film at the local pharmacy and will have to ship it out. I personally haven't shot any still film in atleast 5 years and my kids will never know VHS, or a world without the internet...

The loss of film is a loss. The loss of VHS is not. Haha. Film is beautiful, in many ways, this or that. People can make the same argument for vinyl versus CD's... but I'm not sure there is anyone that can make that case for VHS or one quality it had that was a positive.

I know a guy who chooses to use a VHS player for the nostalgia. He actually prefers the process of rewinding films and the low quality.
I live in a small town in Mexico. That provides a technological cushion of sorts because its usually late by the time I´m able to see and hold new stuff. It´s not like I can go out to bestbuy. So about 2 months ago I was in a highend chain called liverpool that has lot of new tech stuff and I sat down in one of those fake livingroom style watching rooms in front of a 55¨samsung. I looked at the screen and thought , man I´m getting more blind because everything looked alittle fuzzy. Then it occurred to me , or I saw the 3d logo on the side of the set. So I politely asked the salesman to borrow the glasses. It was my first time watching 3d since the 50s´! Bam, bom, bomb, wow !! It was a FIRST. Like the first kiss, the first love, the first toke, it was a marvel.
Now I´m sure 3d will be content sensitive but for visual artist, it´s a whole new palette that I can see incredible pieces will be created. For narrative films I can see it´s limitations but for artists, it´s amazing. So I´m watching and waiting for 3d to come down to the masses.
