I am rapidly concluding that short of a manual adapter like the one for Nikons there is NO system that is going to offer smooth, incremental iris changes on EF or Sony glass that are to my satisfaction. It appears that electronic iris control will always be steppy and lacking a feathery ability. ( j/k)
Just tried a Metabones Mark III EF > Emt with my only EF lens, 17-55 f2.8.
No flash frames in either green mode or advanced. slow dial in advanced, but oddly in green mode the iris dial moved much quicker. Not bad really.
So I just received my new Metabones Speedbooster ultra and tried it with two manual lenses where it exhibited exactly the same problem, one I have never heard of and don't really understand how it can be happening.
Lenses tried were Contax Zeiss 28mm f2 'Hollywood' and Contax Zeiss 28-85 f3.3. Both with Leitax EF mounts. One has a declicked iris and one does but exposure remains exactly the same regardless of where the iris is set. Obviously these are all manual lenses so I am very confused as to how/why this is happening. Here's a video of the issue on the 28mm f2 as I go from f2 to f22 and back and the exposure remains identical.

Any help on this greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Just to add to this I tested it with the only canon lens in my house - ther nifty 50 1.8 and the iris control works so the adapter's not shorted or anything.
